New member permissions, can't post

phpBB 3.2.x on Windows 10 A new member was registered and activated. But he was not able to post. So I went to User Permissions and applied "All Features" instead of "Standard Features". But he still can't post. What more do I have to do to allow new members to post? PS__I just found another set of ...

Re: How to Pin post to top (sticky)

Kinerity

Thanks for the tip. I never would have found that function without narrowing down the possible places to look. The Welcome post is now stuck at the top of the forum list.

How to Pin post to top (sticky)

PHPBB3.x on Windows 10 I have made a Welcome post that I now want to pin to the top of the message board. But I can't find a tool to make that happen. I'm not talking about permissions, because I already have full admin on all levels. I'm looking for a button, tool, or command to "make sticky" or "p...

Re: how to register & post on forum

Thanks for all the information and suggestions. Since this non-commercial philosophical forum won't have many new registrations, I won't know for a while if the original problem has been fixed. I still don't know what happened to the first Registration Activation Request emails. They didn't show up ...

Re: how to register & post on forum

KevC Yes, under User Registration Settings, Account Activation, it says "by Admin". But I can't find the original Admin email address (on Bluehost), which is different from the Contact address (on Earthlink). If activation requests were sent to the Contact address, then I should have received them i...

Re: how to register & post on forum

New question :

Nevermind. I finally found out that each member has to have special permission before the "New Topic" button is displayed. I'm still a novice at the role of Admin, and there are so many options & settings that I haven't even looked at yet.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Where can I find the "admin user’s profile"? I've looked all over the ACP.

Thanks, but that' not the address I'm looking for. Looks like I'll have to do a work-around.

Re: how to register & post on forum

KevC In the email settings I found the admin address for member correspondence, but not for the forum to send activation requests to the admin. General correspondence will go to my Earthlink email box. But the admin box is in BlueHost, which hosts the Forum. Apparently I gave the Bluehost email addr...

Re: how to register & post on forum

KevC Thanks for the tip. I have now registered as a member so I can see what other members see. But when members try to register, an email is supposed to be sent to the Administrator for activation. Since I'm not receiving the emails, I assume there is something wrong with the Admin email address se...

Re: How to create mobile responsive logos

But you have some weird stuff going on in that site. I can not locate your site_logo image. At resolution 930px your image will not reduce in size and hides part of it. It should reduce in size if you have max-width: 100%; which David's ext gives you. That height could be coming from any of those c...

Re: How to create mobile responsive logos

Open your overall_header.html template and remove these two lines. <h1>BothAndBlog Forum</h1> <p></p> Where did you find those lines? I opened "overall_header.html" in Prosilver and Prosilver_se, and several other Style & Theme & Template folders, but didn't see any reference to "BothAndBlog". It w...

Re: How to create mobile responsive logos

David is correct. The custom style you have is what is creating your problem. I found some template hard codding that is the cause. WAIT: I just looked at the source codes and did not see any hard codded css. Note: If you change the width on smaller screens the default height will remain. You have ...

Re: How to create mobile responsive logos

I will have to look at David63's custom logo ext to see what he has, if that is what you are using. I can't believe his ext is not responsive. Maybe you just need help setting it up. Have you asked in his topic? The custom logo extension is "responsive" to smaller screens, in the sense that it redu...
