I've decided to shut down one of my sites with phpBB running but I'm giving members a chance to 'clean out their lockers' so to speak. During this time I don't want any new members to register. How can I simply disable user registration?

I have about 500 members. I don't think it could be a limit by my host because I was able to send an email to all members and 2 minutes later I tried to send another to the same number of people and it did not work.

Sorry, I should have specified that I want to find a free chat. I don't really care if it integrates with PHP. I just need user accounts instead of programs like Blab Lite that allow anyone to log in with no accounts.

Is there a good MOD or a site that allows you to integrate a chat page into a site or forum?
I need a chat that allows many people, nost just one as in an IM.
