Re: where can i found phpbb2 ?

Not sure what you'd need phpBB2 for, but you can find the latest release (2.0.23) here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/phpbb/f ... 20v2.0.23/

Re: spam

The problem with spammers now is that there are actual companies that are being created that employ actual people to register and post spammy links and stuff on forums and other comment-enabled websites. So, since that's the case, CAPTCHA and other anti-spam measures won't really help. Fighting spam...

Re: Can't stay logged in to ACP

Oddly, this seems to have been fixed by clearing my browser's cookies and data, changing the cookie name (again), and logging back in. Haven't had an issue since.

Extremely odd...

Re: Have you checked what programs you have installed lately?

I take a simple approach to removing viruses from my PC. I have very few programs installed, and all important documents are backed up to another hard drive which is scanned regularly. Since I run Windows on an SSD, all it takes is a simple reformat and re-install, and the viruses are removed. Re-in...

Does it include your subdomain name?
Yes, as I stated above, the cookie domain and path are correct.

Edit for clarity:

The forum is installed at http://forum.example.com
The cookie domain is set at forum.example.com
The cookie path is set at /

Can't stay logged in to ACP

For some reason I haven't been able to figure out, I cannot stay logged in to an ACP session. Every time I log in, I'll click on an link in ACP, and it will ask me to log in again. I've changed the cookie name and purged all sessions to no avail. Forum is installed on a subdomain, and the cookie dom...

Re: php upload_max_filesize

Sounds like it was just timing out since the file was so large.

In order to increase the timeout limit, there are a few ini variables you would have to change. This post helps explain it.

Re: phpBB.com Website Feedback

In the "Community" dropdown menu, the "Support Forum" link still leads to the 3.0.0 support forums. I know it seems trivial, but since 3.1.0 final has been released, I think there should be a link to the 3.1.0 support forums.

Re: whats happen on startrekguide.com?

Seeing that it returns a blank page, it could be one of two things:

1. The server is encountering a fatal error, and display_errors is set to Off.
2. The owner has deleted all contents of index.php

Re: Heard about Bitcoin ?

I don't personally use BitCoin (not yet anyways), but have friends that do. One even has a dedicated room and multiple GPUs running to mine BitCoins. In simple terms, this means that he processes BitCoin blockchains, and receives small percentages of BitCoin in return. BitCoin has the ability to be ...

Re: are you a blood donor?

I've donated blood in the past, and am also a registered bone marrow donator. I also have registered as an organ donor for when I die, as I obviously won't be needing them any longer. The only reason I no longer donate blood is that, the last few times, I've passed out mid-draw. Still have yet to fi...

Re: Christmas

I celebrate the tradition of Christmas, not the actual holiday as I am not religious (atheist).

For Christmas this year, I am scheduled to be working a 12 hour shift... yay for working in the private security industry.

Re: VERY Disappointed with 3.1

I beg to differ. A word of advice: I wouldn't make such guarantees. I'm a former SMF team member, and have worked with both SMF -> phpBB and phpBB -> SMF converters. I made my statement based on the 200+ successful conversions I've done both ways, and subsequent upgrades to those boards' respective...
