Re: Install error Warning unexpected character in input ''' (ascii=92) state=1

Well Oyabun1... That is what I am running on. Several forums actually. I was exploring upgrading to 3.1 when I ran into that limitation.

Re: Install error Warning unexpected character in input ''' (ascii=92) state=1

Welp, so much for 3.1.x

I can't install 5.3.3, as there are too many older software using the old zen engine. We must stay at 5.2.17

General Question about the new phpBB series

This is not really a support request, but rather trying to wrap my mind around some things. With 3.1 we have this "extensions". Is this a completely new thing or is it basically a new name for mods? Will there be "Mods" with 3.1. ? I was trying to see what is different with the n...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.1 Ascraeus Feature Release Published

My principal concern "Is this ready for prime time". By that I mean, availability of styles, mods (I guess we call them extensions now), knowledge base for development, etc ... In other words the background support needed for a highly energetic forum. I realize it takes a while to build up...

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.0.10 released

I believe I may be a little confused here.. I went to update my board(s) from 3.0.9 to 3.0.10 - but with the automatic update packages it offers downloads for upgrades from 3.0.10 RC1, 3.0.10 RC2, and 3.0.10 RC3 Normally I would assume RC to mean Release Candidate which, by my understand, is not con...

Re: Regard user_lastpage variable

Okay, excellent, just tried that.. So it returns a '1' if they have access and 0/null if they do not. Is that correct?

Re: Regard user_lastpage variable

In that case maybe I am bucking up the wrong tree here... Perhaps what I should be doing is checking if a user has at least read permission in a particular forum. Since I can pull The username and User_id from that integration, could I test if a user_id has permission to access a particular forum? S...

Re: Regard user_lastpage variable

It's an external script I am linking out to. For discuss purposes, this script contains: define('IN_PHPBB', true); $phpbb_root_path = (defined('PHPBB_ROOT_PATH')) ? PHPBB_ROOT_PATH : $myforum; $phpEx = substr(strrchr(__FILE__, '.'), 1); include($phpbb_root_path . 'common.' . $phpEx); // Start sessio...

Regard user_lastpage variable

Hey guys, I believe I am posting in the correct section. I am working on a utility that needs to know where a user has accessed it from. As we know the HTTP_REFERER is not dependable. Through the article in the knowledge base regarding integrations, it mentions the variable 'user_lastpage'. I assume...

Re: [split] Content Quick Translation

Yea, I am not keen on that Microsoft widget either. What bugs me is two fold: The thing screws up the feel of your skinning efforts with an ugly frame at the top of the page, which of course advertises Micro$oft. It has a monthly quota of 2 million characters after which it ceases to work until a fr...

Re: Problem with mass email

Actually it does not seem to work for any more than one.

I can add a single user into the over-ride and it works perfectly fine. Add 2 users and it fails.

Re: Problem with mass email

Excellent, that worked to remove the SQL error, but now it delivers a different kind of error. It returns that there was an error: There were one or more errors while sending the e-mail. Please check the Error log for detailed error messages. and in that location it says: E-mail error ยป EMAIL/PHP/ma...

You are a good man Brf - precisely what I needed.

Is there any place that lists all these variable that can be used with standard queries.. (so I don't have to bug people with dumb questions?)
