Re: [4.0.x][DEV] [OFFICIAL] CODENAME: Chameleon

Again not frameworks, and the class names alone is reason not to use any of them. Its not madness its sanity. Also you are wrong to think they know what they are doing just because they have been here first? And as states you can still leverage the code in the development of a better approach. You o...

Re: [4.0.x][DEV] [OFFICIAL] CODENAME: Chameleon

Actually we are using a framework its called ITCSS just a custom implementation of it which is how its meant to be used. The fact of the matter is there are very few frameworks out there, three to be exact which we will cover latter. In actuality you are most likely referring to a UI library more th...

Re: Swaping GIF topic icons for SVGs

well I suppose you could do this in the template with twig possibly using conditionals for each icon to if topicrow.TOPIC_ICON_IMG = x load x.svg

and for the editor topic_icon.ICON_IMG

you will also have to mess with the css a little.

Re: Hash values for custom CSS files

the answer to all questions here is It does not matter this is not an issue! We are using hash instead of version numbers so that we do not have to manually change them for each release when a change is made to a specific file. The build tool automatically updates the stylesheet.css file for us. Thi...

Re: Question about the hashcode in stylesheet

We did change what/how the hash is put there going forward with the default style. It will no longer be a version number but an auto generated hash for each build. So in other words if we make changes to a specific file for a release that file will get a new auto generated hash. This should not affe...

Re: [4.0.x][DEV] [OFFICIAL] CODENAME: Chameleon

When exactly was white space ever bad? Never was it’s just very misused and misunderstood. Either way no need to worry as it’s all based on a single variable grid of 8px if you change that you change all the space

Re: [4.0.x][DEV] [OFFICIAL] CODENAME: Chameleon

That’s not true a lot of sites use a similar approach. The reasoning is as you mentioned poor use of space for one. Given the little info that a forum has. It fits more to a card which allows for better interaction and a better responsive experience. It also opens up the layout for the addition of a...

Re: [4.0.x][DEV] [OFFICIAL] CODENAME: Chameleon

Where can we see the progress status ? The last time I read this topic, the mockups were not completed. Are we into coding now ? Or working on the mockups ? If you don't mind asking, have you started the work on phpBB 4.0 ? Thanks. The coding started before this topic all links are located in the f...

Re: Swaping GIF topic icons for SVGs

currently they are not supported by the core. We plan to fix update this in 4.0. however currently you are stuck with png as the best option. We currently use retina pngs for these which is just a svg saved as a png 2x the required dimensions.

Re: [4.0.x][DEV] [OFFICIAL] CODENAME: Chameleon

A few questions: Will avatars go back to the left side in posts, like it were in subSilver? Will the ACP get an overhaul, too? Will that image of the planet be included in the final? If so, will an image be easily uploaded (or added) and adjusted based on it's size? Instead of having that white spa...

Re: [4.0.x][DEV] [OFFICIAL] CODENAME: Chameleon

This is not a style this is a library of components used to build a style. It easy to adjust things how you want. We will maintain pro silver for another version to transition but ultimately the default style that we go with to replace it which this is not will be the only style we will maintain. Th...

Re: phpBB vector icons - Why are they not added?

The change has not been made because loading svgs in this way is not something that the end user can not do on there own so not necessarily worth a change to do so that would break every style at this time. Also there are loading time issue with using them in this way. Certain browsers have issues w...
