Re: Is threaded replies feature still available?

as far as I know there is nothing for phpbb3. I "think" there was some type of MOD for phpbb2 that did something like that. You are not likely to find much support for this because this type of software was basically designed to replace that old style. having said that, if you can describe exactly ...

I see, so there must have been a hack for it then, because I've seen boards that have switch view link.
Does anyone know about this hack?

Is threaded replies feature still available?

Hello! Does the phpBB have threaded replies view? I always thought that it does, but I can't find any links on this forum to switch from regular (flat) to threaded view.

Has the threaded view feature been removed from the recent version? If not, then how can I switch to a threaded view?

What does this site use for its CMS?

I am wondering, does this website (phpbb.com) run on some type of phpbb based portal? I mean, it has sections like 'download', 'about', etc... as well as the optional forum and all pages use the same template. Is this something that phpbb.com wrote just for this site or is it available for download ...

Is there a signin with Twitter hack?

Basically I need to integrate the Signin with Twitter feature because my forum will be mostly for my Twitter followers and I want them to be able to easily signin with Twitter account, using the usual oAuth "dance". I don't even expect to have the normal 'registration process', I pretty much expect ...

Re: Impact of Oracle buying MySQL on phpBB?

Once think I am pretty sure they will do if they buy mysql is they will completely screw over the mysql website and will make all the great online knowlege base a member-only, so you will need to have an account and login to see anything useful. That's pretty much the situation on Oracle's website w...

Re: Anyone has experience with sitemaps xml?

I disagree that it gets indexed well. I mean, sure some posts get indexed well, but many posts are not getting in the index at all. I think Google now always following to page 2, 3, 4... in the threads page. This may depend on the PR of your forum, but if your PR is low, then Google will most likely...

Anyone has experience with sitemaps xml?

I need help with sitemaps for the forum. It's very confusing of how to properly create/submit sitemap xml to Google. I want to have sitemap that points to every individual post on the forum (no to thread, but to a single post) A single sitemap will definetely be over the allowed 50,000 urls limit. S...

New year = happy spamming time

How many spammy 'happy new year from XYZ company' have you received around holiday times? The X-Mas, New year is such a great excuse to send spammy reminder from all sorts of companies and websites on which you have ever registered. It's so funny to receive happy new year emails from various merchan...

Re: Impact of Oracle buying MySQL on phpBB?

That's the worst Oracle can do to MySQL? The worst they can do is stop further development, announce that they discontinue MySQL completely. The most the can do is to claim the MySQL trademart, but they can't claim the code because it was developed under the open source license. So if Oracle decides...

Re: why not php in templates

Ideally the template should not allow any type of php. The whole idea of a template is to separate html from php so that a web designer who does not know php could edit a template and a php programmer will just concentrate of programming and dont worry about the html.

Cyrillic domain names

As some of you may know, IANA has approved the Cyrillic letters to be used in top level domains. One of my client has asked me to setup a new forum for him on a new domain he is getting. The domain will have a cyrillic top level extension and possibly the entire domain name will by in cyrillic lette...
