The long answer: it depends on if your provider is not overselling its own lines, have proper hardware (switches, firewall, cabling), aren't capping ...

sojogosie: I fail to see the reason behind this topic. Please refrain from posting such topics in the future, thanks. chris_nemesis: I know you are probably doing this with good intentions, but do not reply to such topics because you're actually feeding the "discussion" by doing so. In the future, ...

The advantage of a bug report is that it will be easier to assign it to someone to look at, even if it may or may not be an actual bug :)

Re: phpBB3 future

This is really makes me wondering why it is not a paid product if the team already invest such things ... The audit was done by Sektion Eins: http://www.sektioneins.de. The reason phpBB isn't a paid product is because we want to keep the "open source spirit" alive and believe in it; nothing more, n...

For the sake of everyone trying to help you here, please answer the questions asked. I'll lock this topic if you continue to ignore the people who are spending time on trying to help you out. Even better, start by stating the problem you are encountering at this moment in time , and do not change an...

Re: Parameters calls in PhpBB

Yes, you're right but I'm not wrong  because one day or another, a hacker could find a way to inject a malicious script able to bypass that kind of safety. You've got a lot more to worry about if a hacker is able to inject a malicious script into a nearly plain text file, honestly. Adding ...

Re: Parameters calls in PhpBB

Well, I'm sory for my two gif images speed, I need a while to slow down them :D Read rule 2A more thoroughly - no antimations are allowed. The MODs you mentioned are only giving a false sense of security and don't improve anything; we've seen those kind of MODs before and they actually did more har...

Re: Parameters calls in PhpBB

Next, I hope to be at the right place to talk about the calls to the DB parameters. In #2 version of PhpBB, there was only one inside the common.php file which is very easy to protect with a "Deny from All" Apache statement. I'm sorry? You are confusing things... calling the database is being done ...

Re: SQL Backup

If I recall correctly, the only way around that is by choosing the "no compression" method. You will end up with a larger backup file but a large backup is better than no backup at all, I'd say :)

Re: How often are the language packs verified and/or revised?

So you'll have to contact the maintainer of the Portuguese language pack and ask if he's still correcting. If he's not, you can PM Vic D' Elfant(I believe, someone correct me if I'm wrong here) with the status of the language pack. Correct :) Not to mention that the Portuguese (Brazilian) language ...
