Because I was able to modify my phpBB 2 forums to show a thumbnail on the view forum page IF an attachment was included on the first post of the topic.

I did that by first getting the file name of the attachment in the topics table.

The topics table in phpBB3 includes a "topic_attachment" (I believe that is the field name), but it appears to only be a true/false type field. I would like to add a field to the topics table that includes the file name of the attachment. I was able to figure this out in phpBB2, but 3 is n...

I just thought possibly there was php code that could be inserted on the page that would allow only certain usergroups to view. Obviously that code exists as there are private forums that only certain groups can view, so I thought if I knew what code that was I could insert it in the newsletter too.

Unless one of the users gives out the link, then anybody who has the link info would be able to access it.

Currently that is what we do, we post a link to the newsletter in a private forum, but that doesn't guarantee that somebody may not give out the link info.

I am trying to clear out the permissions for all individual users, without clearing out the permissions for groups, but I have over 1000 users, so it is going to be real tedious to try and clear them out one by one.

Anybody know the answer to this one, help would be really appreciated, want to make sure before I clear out all permissions.

I want to control permissions through groups rather than individually. I know that I can clear our the users permissions by doing the following truncate table phpbb_auth_access in phpmyadmin But will that also clear out those who have been allowed access to forums by giving them moderator status? Will this work for pages that are in subdirectories of the forum?

Thanks for the link, I have modified the pages so that a user must be logged into the forums to view them, but now I want to limit them to a certain group, not all registered users.

I want to create some html pages in a subdirectory of my forum, but they would only be viewable by certain group members, how can I do that?
