Re: Avatar loading problems

I'm not sure, but it looks like you may have deleted your old avatars files. How did you upgrade your phpBB installation? Did you use the auto-updater or did you overwrite all your files?

[CODE]vanilla2phpBB3 -- Questions on combining two files

Hey guys, I know this isn't the normal question asked on this board, but as some of you may know I am working on a converter for Vanilla to phpBB3. After a little bit of headbanging, I (with the help of Dicky, Jelly and Marshalrusty) figured out how to make the convert script use a file (it wasn't n...

[BETA] Vanilla 1.1.10 to phpBB2 converter

Hello everyone, While I am working on getting a Vanilla to phpBB3 converter going, I am proud to present a Vanilla to phpBB2 converter. I admit that converter is a bit of stretch, as the work is done manually using SQL commands. Those commands are based almost entirely off of a phpBB Modders user wh...

Re: How to make your site look like this.

Take a look in the Styles section of the site for ways to change the default phpBB look.

Re: phpBB2 and phpBB3 password hashing differences overview

Also, I am examining the following: includes/auth/auth_db.php as I believe it holds the key to what I want to do. As a point of information, I would need to set this "flag" so that it would update the hash when I do the SQL command. In plain English: Take this value from this column (password), then...

phpBB2 and phpBB3 password hashing differences overview

Hey, I was wondering if the changes between phpBB2 and phpBB3 password hashing are documented anywhere. From what I have read, phpBB2 uses a simple md5(), where as phpBB3 uses a salted version of md5() which uses phpass for further security. Interestingly enough, http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewt...

Re: Word Censoring & BBCode

What exactly do you mean. I've read it, but I don't understand it.

Do you mean if word "ABC" is a banned word and you use "[ABC]" in your BBCode, will it get censored?

Or, if "DEF" is a banned word, and you want "[BBCODE]DEF[/BBCODE]", will it get censored?

Re: Change default Search Value

Go to root_dir/lanuage/{your_language}/common.php

Find:

Code: Select all

	'SEARCH_MINI'				=> 'Search…',
Replace "Search…" what you want to be displayed.

Try that and see if works.

Since you are using English, the {your_language} would either be en or en_us.

Looks as though the Topic Cement MOD is released only to phpBB 3.0.5, so you should at least update to that.

Have you purchased a domain name and hosting from a company?

You cannot simply setup a forum on a localhost (your computer) and add a domain name.

Depending on how your localhost is setup, a connection might be able to made using an IP address.
