Re: Copying live forum to a test forum

Hello all I have been travelling for 4 days with limited internet, but I have been able to check all the file downloads from my live site. There was obviously a series of problems with the initial downloads from the live system, resulting in missing files, and even directories, in the vendor and sty...

Re: Copying live forum to a test forum

I am currently checking item by item to ensure that the FileZilla download worked completely. I have previously checked the upload, which was fine.

It appears certain that something as straightforward as a corrupt transfer must be the problem.

Re: Copying live forum to a test forum

Alas, changing the config.php file as suggested made no difference!

Re: Copying live forum to a test forum

Deleting the cache/production directory makes no difference. Incidentally the cache/installer directory is empty, as it is on the live site.

Re: Copying live forum to a test forum

Well I will reload everything, but I don't understand how your renaming of files resulting in a similar error makes you certain that a file or files is missing.

Re: Copying live forum to a test forum

I can't load the forum to give a screenshot, but the config.php is here:- <?php // phpBB 3.0.x auto-generated configuration file // Do not change anything in this file! $dbms = 'mysqli'; //database type it may not be mysql $dbhost = 'd*****.1and1.com'; $dbname = 'd*****'; $dbuser = 'd*****'; $dbpass...

It should be a copy of the live site https://forum.cancersupportfrance.org

Re: Copying live forum to a test forum

Reloading the symfony directory has made no difference to the error message.

I am looking at the other directories, but it certainly seems that all the downloads and uploads were completed correctly..

Re: Copying live forum to a test forum

@battye
I am reloading the symfony directory again to ensure that it is complete, although FileZilla showed no problems.

@steve
I obfuscated the early part of the full web host details but missed the references you mention, which are simply a part of the full site address.

Re: Copying live forum to a test forum

The Server URL settings Force server URL settings: is set to "No", so the settings defined on the ACP Server URL settings should be ignored - the Script Path is blank. I have checked the test database to ensure that all references to the domain name have been altered, but I still get the e...

Copying live forum to a test forum

I have followed the method outlined in the responses to the post https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=661&t=2619266 and https://www.phpbb.com/support/docs/en/3.3/kb/article/transferring-your-board-to-a-new-host-or-domain/ but I am getting a fatal error:- Fatal error: Uncaught Error: C...

Re: Where to place Statcounter code?

@janus_zonstraal because when I removed only the Statcounter comments the result was the same; so to ensure that I had understood the suggestion to remove comments around the code I removed all comments. @danieltj I checked using the Developer Tools in the browser and saw that no favicon.ico file wa...

Re: Where to place Statcounter code?

@Brf I tried both clearing cache and then removing the comment lines and clearing cache - neither has worked. In fact I have tried just removing the comment lines before and after the Statcounter code, then I removed the line:- <!-- EVENT overall_footer_body_after --> The relevant code (with actual ...

RESOLVED: Where to place Statcounter code?

I have placed code for the Statcounter tracking software before the </body> line in the overall_footer.html template of the prosilver theme, but while this worked in previous versions of phpBB it does not work for 3.3. There are further items that I would like to add to the forum pages, such as GDPR...

That was the problem!
All the files and folders you referred to were present, so I deleted them and reran the install, which seems to have worked!

Thanks very much.
