Re: Adding noindex, follow to some pages.

why are you worrying about this? the standard setup seems to work just fine for thousands of boards around the world. Answer: because I want to do something different that what the "standard setup" allows. The question was/is: how can one add a noindex/nofollow tag one particular post? NO...

Re: Help Identifying Font Color Code To Change It.

I have successfully moved my poster profiles over to the left, and now I would like to change the color of the poster profiles, such that the poster profiles are a color discernably different from the posts on the right. I already tried changng the post profiles colors in the CSS file from 666666 to...

Re: Custom BBCodes

Thanks for your reply ric. I was using the custom bbcode link in the ACP, not doing file edits. I entered a few basic codes for aligning text, and then I edited an old post. The basic text editing worked just fine until I tried to insert a url over a string of text - no joy. I just now re-tested it,...

Re: Custom BBCodes

I am having a problem with the URL button in phpbb 3.0.6. I added some custom, but very basic BBcode yesterday, and after doings so, my URL button no longer works. This also coincided with the release of 3.0.7 (28 Feb). I tried both http://www.my-url.com as well as visit my url , just like I have do...

Re: Meta tags or SEO Mod?

For the sake of good order, a minor clarification. The order is:

Viewforum = "Forum Name - Site Name"
Viewtopic = "Post Title - Site Name"

(the previous reply incorrectly said "Topic Title - Site Name" in the second line)

Re: Meta tags or SEO Mod?

You're right - and I forgot to check that, sorry! (perhaps I was crazy...) And furthermore, it definitely works correctly. The titles no longer repeat. The order, for anyone reading this thread in the future, is now: Viewforum = "Forum Name - Site Name" Viewtopic = "Topic Title - Site...

Re: Meta tags or SEO Mod?

Great thread. I used the pre-edit header code, and the titles did indeed repeat after g indexed everything. In my case, Viewforum appeared in the SERPs as "Forum Name - Forum Name - Site Name". I can't tell whether the edit addresses this, but hopefully it does. In any case, I have uploade...

Re: bibzopl.com Virus

Robert, just wanted to let you know your diagnosis was completely spot on, and I really appreciate your help. :D The crud code is all gone, hopefully for good. I have changed all my passwords, and I will consider changing hosts as well.

Re: bibzopl.com Virus

OK Robert, thanks. I think what you suggested will take care of it, and strong passwords are definitely a must - letters (w/changed case) numbers and symbols. I would love not to have to replace all the files, but it's probably the safest way to go.

Cheers, Chris

Re: bibzopl.com Virus

ric323 - the phpbb files are in located in a sub directory of my site (mysite/forum). The main site is just a an html blog running off of Google's free Blogger platform using one of their free templates, and I publish via FTP. I do have a custom script running on the index.html page that distributes...

Re: bibzopl.com Virus

Thanks. I did call the hosting company, but they weren't a ton of help ("and I will email you a tip sheet on avoiding malware in the future...). However, the script WAS on the server, and discovered that it had infiltrated every php file in the template, so I went into file manager, opened ever...

Re: [Split From] Please help....LOST adm control panel link.

Thanks guys. The adm link actually didn't work, but I have Linux hosting, so I went into the file manager at Go Daddy (which I just figured out how to use, I normally use FireFTP as my publisher) and restored the footer file back to 2 days earlier using the "history" tab. In order to do th...

Re: [Split From] Please help....LOST adm control panel link.

Thanks. What I meant by "I have just done the same thing" was that I mistakenly removed the Admin Control Panel link from the footer, just as the original poster did. So my question is this: aside from clicking on the Admin Control Panel link in the footer (which is no longer there), is th...

[Split From] Please help....LOST adm control panel link....

I have just done the same thing, but I am hosting on Go Daddy, and I believe the FTP publisher is "built in" to their phpbb utility (I downloaded phpbb directly from them). Hence, without access to the admin control panel, I believe have no access to the FTP publisher. Is there any other w...

bibzopl.com Virus

Hi, I just noticed my phpbb home page calling up a site called bibzopl.com when I try to load it. I did a source view when it did finally load, and I discovered some encrypted javascript hidden in the footer. The script is: [removed javascipt] I removed the script from the footer template, but of co...
