Re: [Discuss] phpBB Release, Security and Support Plan

End of Maintenance = no more minor updates or code updates. Critical bugs and security exploits will still be fixed, but there will be no more minor versions, cosmetic fixes or fixes that aren't critical. This doesn't mean support will stop. End of Life = no more updates or fixes. They still may pat...

Re: [Poll] Community Choice: Next Official Extension

Thanks for voting everyone! Clearly we have two extensions that a lot of people are interested in, so we shall be taking a look into both Pages and Auto Groups to start. Once we come up with some more detailed design specifications we will let everyone know! :) Glad to hear this. Both are equally i...

Don't forget Facebook - it can be your biggest enemy or best friend if you're smart about it.

Re: Pros and cons of one large site to multiple sites

Don't get me wrong, subdomains are great and as specified in a prior post, each subdomain can be on it's own server, but you can ...

Re: How to cope with phpbb duplicate url's?

SEO is a way to part fools with their money as far as I am concerned; I tried it and my site rank dropped. I never used it again after that. Still, it seems to be a buzz word that just keeps repeating on you: like bad Indian food. Everyone says "SEO! SEO!" ... What a crock.

Re: Discuss: phpBB 3.1.0-RC2 released

Just remember if you install looks all funky like mine did after the upgrade, do a cacheless refresh (CTRL+F5) to make it look right.

Love the new nav bar :)

Re: Change Users Online Time from 5 to 10 Minutes

It would be in the /viewonline.php

If you're unable to trace this yourself, I would suggest you think again about modifying any of these files.

Re: 80% of children lie about their age to use sites like Fb

How to moderate kids: Don't put the computer in the kid's bedroom. Put it in a family area like the living room. Use parental control software at all times. Webcams are disabled unless you are present to monitor who they are camming and what they are doing. Monitor emails with key words (this way it...

Re: "Subject: Please delete my account."

Change your password to something random (and don't record it), change the email used on the account to an unrealistic random email that can't be verified. Simple. All your info is gone, the account is about as close to being deleted as you'll get without actually deleting it. And as Paul said, it's...

Submit your site to search engines so at least you're on the list and will start getting closer to the front. :ugeek:

It's OK. I just bought out Microsoft, so it's in safe hands :ugeek:

My favourite this year was Google Translate for Animals (Google UK). Another good one was the Wikipedia one about England's tradition of wife selling
