Re: [RC1] SPAM TRAP MOD

You'll have to forgive me if i've missed something obvious but isn't this mod a bit of a red herring? The majority of spam has a forged from address which is often legitimate so all that'll happen is some poor soul will get all even more deliver failure messages. Won't this mod actually contribute t...

Re: Stopping Langusge/swear filter workarounds

Sorry, my fault...was hard to see the wood for the trees with the amount of bbcode in some of the posts.

They're using double bbcode ie. [b][i][/i][/b] and when stripped only outer code is dropped leaving the middle code in the word to defeat the filter (i've checked this time  )

Re: Stopping Langusge/swear filter workarounds

I would do except we're fairly busy so within a couple of hours you get a whole load of users joining the thread so it's a little difficult to warn/ban them all without appearing overzealous....i'd rather just have a an easy life with a more functional swear filter

Re: Stopping Langusge/swear filter workarounds

Yes, we're on RC5.

Looking into it a little more it would appear if you dont preview the post and just submit then the bbcode isnt stripped so the swearword gets posted. If you preview it's stripped to the filter works.

Re: [2.0.7] Intellicensor

Does anyone know if this (or an alternative) has/is being re-written for Olympus?

Stopping Langusge/swear filter workarounds

Hi guys, We get a lot of problems with users being smart and trying to get around the swear filter by using bbcode tags mid word ie swe[b][/b]aring Could we have a mod for Olympus so that the swear filter ignores any bbcode when checking for swear words There has been something previously done for v...

Referrer/backlinks per topic

Not quite sure if i have the mod description right but i came accross a cool feature on another (VB powered) board.. At the bottom of each thread there was a list of other pages/sites that had linked to a particular topic...makes for interesting reading to see who/what are linking to your topics and...

Re: [BETA] phpBB Garage 2.0

I've not used the garage on on a live phpbb3 board as i've got a phpbb2 board with around 950 vehicles awaiting conversion and didnt want to get into a situation with a set of data from each then having to merge them. For me, a garage convertion from phpbb2 is the most important aspect as opposed to...

Re: Moderators managing groups

Thanks for that...

That's pretty much what i'd done but instead of creating an Admin role, i'd just left it as no role assigned then explicitly changed the permissions. 8-)

I thougth i'd got it wrong as i presumed there would be some way for them to do it in the MCP.

Moderators managing groups

Is it possible for moderators to manage groups? At the moment i've had to set their permissions so they have access to the admin panel in ACP>Users and Groups>Group Permissions>Moderators>Administrator Permissions and allow access to 'Can manage groups' and 'Can manage users' I thought they might be...

Re: Getting Ready to do Conversion

He's talking about running a conversion...by default the converter does not use a different database. If you want to change the converter code to use a different database or move the relevant tables to a different database after conversion then fill your boots as thats up to you...by default not tho...

Re: Getting Ready to do Conversion

No, you dont need a seperate db for v3.

Everything remains in the same database but new tables are created with a different prefix. Data from the v2 tables is untouched...it's converted adn written into the new v3 tables in the same database.

Re: How reliable is the built in backup and restore

I thought as much but haven't looked and there's little info about how the backup/restore works. I'm definately no php or MySQL guro so in the past it's been a right chore. Last time i moved when the db was ~600mb i somehow managed to drop each table to .sql files via MySQL cli then import them usin...

Re: How reliable is the built in backup and restore

Has anyone tried the built in backup/restore facility with a db ~1100mb in size?

I'm looking to move hosts shorlty and whilst doable it's a bit of a ballache and anything to ease the pain would be more than welcome
