Link to post takes user to incorrect place

I'm running a phpBB installation of 3.2.7. In case it matters, also PHP 7.1.17 and MySQL(i) 5.7.24. I posted within my forum, including an embedded link to: <domain>/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=1074&start=20#p6688 Whilst I as a user click on that link and am taken to the right point within the linked topic...

Have you tried running the SQL query provided
Thanks for the suggestion, Tabitha. Unfortunately my knowledge of SQL is limited to knowing that it's a computer language. Do I run this SQL query from within the phpBB ACP?

Unapproved therefore inactive members receive post notifications via email - is this right?

I have a phpBB forum installation, currently 3.2.7. For user registrations, account activation is set to "By admin" (ie. ACP > General > User registration settings > Account activation) . Yet an "inactive" user, inactive due to the registration request not yet having been approved, receives notifica...

Re: Spoofed forum - how to protect against?

When I visit http://rsp.you-global.com I get the normal phpbb page asking me to login/register When I visit https://rspforum.3parkland.com.au it says: Information You have been permanently banned from this board. Please contact the Board Administrator for more information. Reason given for ban: Acc...

Re: Spoofed forum - how to protect against?

So I heard back from my host, who suggested that I change the password via the relevant Database user name. Which I did. I can now log into the forum, and navigate around. I've not tried to post anything. What I've not yet done is updated the password via the config.php file. My guess was that if I ...

Re: Spoofed forum - how to protect against?

Thank warmweer. I've emailed the host for some direction. I guess the worrying thing for me, after I take as many of these steps as I can, is how would a 3rd party have obtained my administrator login for the phpBB installation? Would he have to have had access to the host server? In which case my l...

Re: Spoofed forum - how to protect against?

Now, if you change your database password, then change your config.php to match, you site should work. Thanks KYPREO. Pardon my ignorance though, I've not been able to find anywhere within phpBB > ACP to change the database password. Can I please trouble you (or somebody) for a pointer as to how I ...

Re: Spoofed forum - how to protect against?

I've just noticed that when visiting https://rspforum.3parkland.com.au, that address now returns the same SQL ERROR message. I know enough to be dangerous, but does that not suggest that the whatever's happening when rspforum.3parkland.com.au is visited, it accesses the original config.php file ??? ...

Re: Spoofed forum - how to protect against?

Thanks to all for your comments and feedback. I've read all carefully, and when I've been able to work out what the suggestion means, I've implemented. Were there are any other board administrators? Nope. Did any other users have founder access? Nope, not as far as I know. Did you provide user login...

Re: Spoofed forum - how to protect against?

I contacted the registrant of parkland.com.au via email, asking 3 questions, which the registrant has answered, leaving me none the wiser in terms of data risk: Would you be so kind as to let me know why the phpBB installation accessible via rsp.you-global.com has been duplicated or mirrored? It isn...

Re: Repeating spam user registrations

I received a further note from OneAll Support: Did you check the plugin settings for the validation ? There are some options like "Prompt new users to validate username and email ?". Even if they are with example.com domain, they should validate their email if you enable the features. We don't chang...
