Users are reporting that when they open the forum, they are signed in as someone else.
This is very common when the host is using session caching. If they have Varnish or Cloudflare installed it is currently set up incorrectly. The other issues are probably a knock on effect of that too.

Re: Properly setting up a newly registered group

Easy to test.

Make an account, make 7 posts, log out, approve them, check with your admin account if they're in the group, log back in, check again.

Re: Properly setting up a newly registered group

You're correct.

Say I register, make 10 posts and leave.
You approve all 10
I'm still in the newly registered group until I come back to the site and my 'status' is re-assessed and then I will drop out of that group and become a normal user.

Re: Properly setting up a newly registered group

Have they logged in since passing the threshold?

They don't drop out of the group until the log in next time.

Re: Looking for recommendations for a new hosting site

These topics just turn in to spamfests where everyone names the host they already have so, we cannot really recommend a host, but we do recommend that you visit WebHostingTalk.

Most of the big names will get mentioned and you'll find some people who love and hate them in equal measure!

Please upgrade to PHP equal to or greater than 5.4.7 but less than 7.3-dev in order to install or update to phpBB 3.2" Currently have PHP 7.3.6
7.3.6 is higher than 7.3-dev

Just downgrade the php version to 7.2.x and it'll work.

Re: not the normal appearence... No entrence...

You're going to have to explain that a bit better.

If you mean your site is down for maintenance without notification of that, we haven't done it because we do not look after anyone elses board.

Re: Groups by post number

Difficult to know what it is without some information.

Post screenshots of your rank page and a profile of a user with and without a rank.

Re: Groups by post number

There are only 2 kinds of rank you can have. Special (not based on post count) or non-special (based on post count). If someone is in a group with a default rank, that will override any post count rank. You can't have both (without an extension). If a rank is not showing you need to look at what gro...

Re: Assigning user to a group based on the post approved in certain topic/forum

mmm you'll need to request an extension for that but one way around it would be to put someone in charge of identifying those posters, set them as the leader of the group and then they can add people to it when they've been approved.

It's probably better to explain the bigger picture of what you're trying to do as that might not be the way to do it.

Re: im getting this error

I'm not sure what else you can do then. This is the hosts job and what you're paying them to do. If they don't want to do it you need to look for a new host.

Re: im getting this error

It's something that can only be done server side.

It must have some sort of control panel for making and managing the database that you made when you installed in the first place.

Go back to the host and ask again. It's their job!
