You're running https but your board secure cookie is on NO. It needs to be yes.
Try clearing the cache and uploading the cookie.php file again.

Re: Help with permissions for forums

Try running a permission mask on your username for that forum. Bottom of the permissions menu If you choose forum based permissions and then on the next screen select that forum/category that you know you should be able to see and then enter your username in the bottom left box, on the next screen y...

Re: Unable to install any extensions in 3.2.8

All of them have been uploaded to the ext/phpbb/ folder That's where you went wrong. Extensions go in /ext/<authorname>/<extensionname> The ones in ext/phpbb are made by the phpBB extensions team The ones you have belong in folder by their own makers. For example, the first will be /ext/dmzx/forumi...

Re: Russian dating site spammers

The bots vary from time to time. You do sometimes get waves of the same kind or the same site url.

By default the newly reg'd users group permission doesn't have the ability to send PMs for that kind of reason. It's set to NEVER.

Re: Error on updating PHPBB

I see this message
You are running an unsupported PHP version. Please upgrade to PHP equal to or greater than 5.4.7 but less than 7.3-dev in order to install or update to phpBB 3.2
If you correct that it should proceed.

And again, the question is how to stop 'guest' from influencing the count?
And again I'll say.... how you know it's guests that are doing it?

Re: My forum will not do the upgrade, or backup via Softaculos

You would have to ask the people who make softaculous. That's not us.

We would recommend you do an update or upgrade (depending on which it is) using our files.

Re: Newer topic used as topic starter

Why don't they want to be the topic starter? What's the big deal with that? Make a hidden forum and sit for an hour making a shed load of blank topics with your account and then use those from now on as the starter? Or say to them, no it's a pain in the arse to do it, just be the topic starter for g...

Re: Newer topic used as topic starter

You can change the name of the topic starter in the mod control panel. You could just edit the first poster name to yours (or a generic one - make an account with a default name like Starter or something).

Re: finally migrated to mybb here is my 2 cents

The developers can never win. phpBB2 used to be super simple. People cried out for more features so they added them. Now you want less again. Different boards have different needs. For instance, I have zero need for a 'like' or reputation or star system. You might well adore such a feature. So then ...

Paste that image link here to try it.
It's got a comma in it. That's very unusual for a link.

Re: How To Move Forums Into Categories

Make a category

In Administration Control Panel (ACP) > FORUMS > Manage forums > make a new forum.

Forum type: Category
Parent forum: No parent

Set permissions for category.

Then
Edit the forum you want and set the parent to be the category you just made.

Go to advanced search
