Re: A buy and sell forum suggestion/question

By the way, forums don't really make money. You might get a few dollars here and there from ads but not enough to live on. You'd have to buy a heck of a lot of sites to do that and then the business model makes no sense because you'd have to keep them for years and years to recoup just your investme...

Re: A buy and sell forum suggestion/question

I think there are already established sites that do that. I can't remember the name of it but there certainly used to be a forum for site admins which had a section for people to sell on sites they didn't have time to run any more. Can't see it happening on here any time soon. This site is purely fo...

Re: Created forums and Categories not appearing on board

The key thing to remember is that everyone is a registered user so you need to set permissions for them to see what you want everyone to see. 'In Administration Control Panel (ACP) > FORUMS > Manage forums make a new forum. Forum type: Category Parent forum: No parent Set permissions for category. T...

Re: Extensions won't appear in extension manager

An author can have more than one extension, just as you have several of the official ones in the /ext/phpbb folder you can do the same with hifikabin's extensions. It won't work in a folder called hifikabin2.

Re: Extensions won't appear in extension manager

You have this
/ext/david63/SiteLogo/files_here
it should be this
/ext/david63/sitelogo/files_here

SiteLogo and sitelogo are not the same thing.

Re: Extensions won't appear in extension manager

What's in the david63 folder? That's the one that isn't working so that's the one I need to see inside.

Re: Extensions won't appear in extension manager

Extensions must go in to a folder with their makes name on it otherwise they won't show up.

That sitemaker one is no different.
When you unzip it you get a folder called blitze
That needs to go in to /ext

So you end up with

/ext/blitze/sitemaker

Re: how to mobe "Global Announcements" to the top of the page

I'm guessing it's because you're not using categories in the way everyone else does. You've got the top level subforums showing above where the topics would be, which is usual, but people don't normally have the layout like that with so many subforums. Your posts won't be in that bit in your screens...
