Re: $GET & $POST vars

I don't need to do that, so I'll stick with the simple code.

Thanks. :D

Re: $GET & $POST vars

OK, but do I need to do:

$var = ( isset($HTTP_POST_VARS['var']) ) ? $HTTP_POST_VARS['var'] : '' ;

or can I just do:

$var = $HTTP_POST_VARS['var'];

Re: $GET & $POST vars

Hmmm...well, I've included common.php and $_POST seems to work fine. The format is: $variable = $_POST['variable']; I can then use $variable as needed in the script. Anyway, I'll take your message to mean that I should switch everything to: $variable = $HTTP_POST_VARS['variable']; One more thing, I ...

Re: $GET & $POST vars

Not sure exactly what that means, but are you saying I should stick with the $HTTP_POST_VARS version?

I'm implementing a MOD script with a long list of $_POST vars. It seems to work, but am I better off switching them out?

$GET & $POST vars

I notice that phpbb uses $HTTP_GET_VARS['var'] & $HTTP_POST_VARS['var'] to grab outside variables, even though the PHP manual says these are not deprecated in favor of $_GET['var'] & $_POST['var']. When I'm doing modding, is there a reason to stick with the old version, or should I update to the rec...

I still want to know whether session_id is supposed to be 'unique' or not.

And why does the error keep occuring with the same SID, even after it's been cleared from the table? Is it a bot using the SID in the URL?

Which is it? My 1062 error says, 'Duplicate entry '494a2df12b48a1e8fdca8ae0e7bfb752' for key 1' , which I assume is session_id.

I just checked the table in PhpMyAdmin and there is a caution icon with the message: PRIMARY and INDEX keys should not both be set for column `session_id`

This is there even AFTER running the repair script. Is this how the table should be set up in phpbb? Is that causing the problem?

Okay, I'll have them check, but why does it keep happening with the same SID - 494a2df12b48a1e8fdca8ae0e7bfb752 - when that SID has been cleared from the table each time?

That's the same script I've run several times already, whenever this error occurs. It doesn't seem to prevent it from happening.

Is there some reason the table keeps getting corrupted?

Duplicate session entry error

I've get the following session error periodically on my site: SQL Error : 1062 Duplicate entry '494a2df12b48a1e8fdca8ae0e7bfb752' for key 1 I've used the repair.php file suggested in similar posts, and still get the error every once in a while. The most unusual thing I've noticed about it is that th...

My main question was about phpBB3, but since you replied to the other request I clarified what I meant.

Does anyone know whether phpBB3 creates static html pages or removes session ID's for SE bots?

I don't mean for phpBB3; I mean a MOD that exists for phpbb2

Manage Search Engine Bots feature?

I see from the features list that phpBB3 will 'detect Search Spiders'. Will this release also create static html pages or at least remove session ID's for SE bots?

If not, can someone give a link to the best MOD for doing so?
