Ah, gotcha, thanks.

D¡cky wrote:Why doesn't it sound right? If your board is already installed, you won't get the install tab, so all that is left is the Overview and Convert options.
But it's talking about converting my board from version 2 to version 3! I'm already on version 3.0.10. Now I want 3.0.11, which I've downloaded.

Welcome to the phpBB Unified Convertor Framework?

What the hell's all that about? When I uploaded the install folder into my board folder, and then navigated to board/install, I get two tabs; overview, and convert; neither of which sound right.

Re: I'd like to update my board to the latest phpBB version

Sorry for reviving this thread, but the time has come again to update to the latest version, and it's so long now, I've forgotten how I start. I'm using filezilla. What, exactly, should I do?

Re: [Discuss] Preventing Spam in phpBB3

Considering spam bots were joining my site at the rate of about 100 a day and today 0 joined, I think I've eliminated them. But I had to take extraordinary measures to do it. I changed the registration question to what's the code? The answer is a random combination of upper- and lower-case letters ...

Found it, thanks.

Open the cache folder on the server and delete everything except index.htm and .htaccess (if you can see it).
Yes, that's it, the cache. I remember now, thanks. Thought I could do that from the ACP though.

I have to reload... something...

I've been told before that when I make significant changes to my board I should reload some configuration or something or the changes aren't registered. I've totally forgotten what I'm supposed to reload though.

Re: Ban/delete multiple users?

Does it work if you just select 10 instead of 1000? You might be asking it to do a bit too much. I changed 1000 to 500 and it worked this time. But 4 spam bots have just joined in the last 30 minutes, so I'll have to get rid of them before I try out that security measure you suggested. EDIT: Last s...

Re: Ban/delete multiple users?

You should be able to delete them through the moderator control panel. If necessary you can increase the posts per page option in the board settings to 500 or so to allow you to delete a lot more in one go. Something really weird here. I selected 1000 topics and posts per page. I clicked mark all. ...

Re: Ban/delete multiple users?

users and groups prune users You can select an option to delete the posts at the same time. Then have a look at the sticky topic at the top of this forum on how to stop them joining. Thanks. Just tried that. It deleted the users but not their posts, even though I definitely selected delete posts.

Ban/delete multiple users?

My board has become flooded with spam bots. One of them managed to make over 1300 posts advertising viagra and other stuff. Is there an option to bring up a list of all the users so that I can click select all, deselect the ones I want to keep, and then ban the rest?
