Re: Installed 3.08; now getting error messages

iPage changed the extensions of my new files from ".config" to ".cfg". Several error messages ensued thereafter. I would suggest contacting iPage. iPage restored it, but then as I went to change the forums I made a mistake and now I'm sitting waiting for iPage to restore a version that has my data....

Thank you for that info, but my immediate problem is getting back on track. Can you suggest what I should be doing about this error statement?

Re: Installed 3.08; now getting error messages

I'm back. I couldn't upgrade with Filezilla because iPage would not allow me to connect through Filezilla. So I resorted to the nuclear option and removed phpBB entirely and then reinstalled phpBB Ver 3.08 Now I am getting the following error message: General Error SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ] Table 'chenpm...

Re: Installed 3.08; now getting error messages

Hi,

Thank you for the quick response. Is there any way to save the Ad MOD since I have a lot of work in there?

Phil

[Edited to add, since I last posted I restored the board to an earlier backup, so it is running at this time. I will try to attempt another upgrade using Filezilla. Thanks]

Re: Can I start a thread about my new Kindle novel?

Ric, I wrote this story in 1990 and have been modifying it since. I recognize that Windows 3.xx were available, but I did not think that it was generally that widespread, particularly with government computers. That is why I stuck with DOC, which enabled me to use my limited DOS knowledge at the tim...

Re: Can I start a thread about my new Kindle novel?

Sam, That is why I asked. I have a lot of respect for what you guys have done with this support group and it has helped me tremendously in my message board. One area that the group here could do for me is to discuss the accuracy of a computer specialist hacking into another computer in 1993, remotel...

Can I start a thread about my new Kindle novel?

I will not post anything about it until you guys give me the go ahead. This forum has been most helpful to me in setting up my message board, but I would love to be able to talk about my latest project. Edited to add that the knowledge I gained here in the last few months was extremely helpful in na...

Re: New External Link on Main Menu

I pasted in your code, refreshed the template and the theme under prosilver and clear my cache and still get the white screen. IPage has some thing called File Manager and this allows you to edit files. I have used this successfully each time I have gotten code changes from you or others. the full e...

Re: New External Link on Main Menu

Steve,

thanks, you're back. That is probably the code I need. I am using Ipage's FileManager.

Let me try the new code.

Thanks

Re: New External Link on Main Menu

Thanks, tried that and it still doesn't work. On the other hand, I am getting pretty good at restoring my board from the dread "white screen" ;)
