Re: Opera- why it is not so popular being the coolest

The last research on internet traffic in Poland (from 2009-07-27 to 2009-08-02) Firefox 51.31 % Internet Explorer 36.42 % Opera 9.11 % Chrome 2.11 % Safari 0.56 % I haven't codded any web page in a while, but I have pretty clear that the times of MSIE are over. At least in Poland. And checking of ho...

Wow! I always knew the bankers are no good, but I never though they have already fallen that low.

Re: Financial crisis

This is the sad part - either there was never a real money involved (huge leveraging) or money has been spent years ago - now the only thing is left is an enormous debt (held by China, Russia, Gulf countries and other net exporters).

Re: Financial crisis

A little bit of humor in difficult times (from Financialsense.com ): REALITY CHECK, INVESTMENT ALTERNATIVE: If you had purchased $1000 of Delta Airlines stock one year ago, you would have $49 today. If you had purchased $1000 of AIG stock one year ago, you would have $33 today. If you had purchased ...

Re: Financial crisis

IMHO consumers might be of interest in green field investment. I fail to see how they affect decisions of investment in bonds. Anyway I haven't entered this topic again to bump it or talk about US bonds. Actually right now I more preoccupied with the old good Europe. During these 2 weeks the behemot...

Re: Financial crisis

I didn't say US consumers are the only consumers that matter. I just said that I think US consumerism has been a factor in debt investment strategies. Neither I did. What I said is that world's preferences changed partly because young people in all over the world prefer to enjoy their live than wor...

Re: Financial crisis

I don't think it's this straightforward. When a nation abandons a standard such as the "gold standard," all you have left is its currency and its collateral. Printing more money because we can isn't good, but printing less money won't increase the credit pool. We probably have more collateral than ...

Re: Financial crisis

You have to be wise and careful with your money —get out of debt and keep your life simple, but I wouldn't do anything terribly drastic with your money, trying to prepare for something that you just can't prepare for (i.e. the Federal government going bankrupt and dumping the FDIC). I don't think U...

Re: Financial crisis

It was a sound investment, one that we could pay off in 5 or 6 years, and we have sufficient income to support such a purchase, but we could not find one single bank who would even discuss an uncollateralized, small business loan for that amount. We even had one loan officer tell us, "If you'd come...

Re: Financial crisis

Well thats capitalism for you then  That's not the problem. The problem is people who choose to go in to debt and then expect to get people to help them get out of debt, causing the vicious cycle to continue. As much as I would like all these Wall Street guys to pay for being such a fools, I'...

Financial crisis

Actually I'm a little bit surprised that this subject haven't been discussed yet. I even started to wonder if it's just a media hype, because I haven't spot yet a post on this forum about what's happening in the today's global economy. I must admit that I did a degree in business administration, and...

Re: Major McDonalds News! Illegal Imigrants for Hire!

As for your particular situation it's certainly possible to generate income here while not working, casino or other gambling winnings would be one thing I can think of . The problem is that, IIRC, the law does not limit declarations to the situations in which you obtain any gains. It says - "regard...

Re: It's a long way down!

Should airlines be selling alcohol at all - is there any need for it? Ban for airlines does not solve the problem - every airport has its' duty free zone. You can buy, let say 2 bottles of Vodka and drink it all during your flight. Alcohol itself is not a problem - people are. With cheap carriers e...

Re: Major McDonalds News! Illegal Imigrants for Hire!

If you really want to make your life better, sit down and learn a little and come over legally; not jump the border and have to constantly look over your shoulder to make sure you stay out of trouble. The sad thing is in order to limit immigrations most countries has adopted laws which make legal i...

Re: The Price of (Gas || Petrol)

Twenty minutes of walk is a long walk! I do quite often mountain trekking on weekends, so 20 minutes walk it's hardly a warm up for me. It's also a pleasure I cannot resist after more than 8 hours daily in front of computer :) And in the morning I prefer singing birds (I cross large beautiful park ...
