Templatized Posting

I'd like to make a template for one specific forum on my board so that a user could open it, fill out the required information and submit. The template form would then create a new thread in the forum by the user in regular text format.

Has this already been created, or could it be created?

Expanded Search Functionality?

I'm wondering if there's a way to make the phpBB search function search more than just the discussion boards. Can you set the search to look at outside HTML pages? PhpBB is only one segment of my website, but it would be nice to have a centralized search to find anything on the site.

Thanks.

Registration profile question

By default, the board seems to only request your email address and preferred password when someone goes to register for your board.

How can you set it up to ask for the additional profile information before submitting the registration? i.e. location, website, etc.

By the way, with 1and1, you can only send 99 emails at once.

The truth is that 1and1 limits the number of emails you can send at one time. The solution is to send them in small quantities (much like the mass email function does on UBB boards). If that's what the MegaMail Mod does, then it's the right solution. I haven't looked at the mod yet, but I'm on my wa...

What if you want to control which banners go into particular forums?

If you change it in the overall_header, the banners will be the same in all forums.

Quick Reply

You'll have to forgive me if this one exists already, but I've been unable to find it. I've searched the mods and I've searched the forums for "quick reply," to which there is no results found. I'm sure it's not true, because quick reply is found on almost all BBS software. Can anyone point me in th...

So how hard would it be to take this mod and make a link in the admin CP when you look up a user? It seems there should be a way for the admin to simply click a link on the user's profile to re-sent the authentication email.

Set your "Use SMTP Server for email" to NO, but then still fill in the "SMTP Server Address" "SMTP Username" and "SMTP Password" as if you were setting up your email.

Worked for me, so far, and I'm on 1and1 also.

Edit: Mass Email still doesn't work.

I read through all of these hoping I would find the fix without having to post, but *ugh* it didn't want to happen that way.
