3.0 Documentation

Is the 3.0 documentation ever going to be properly and completely done? http://www.phpbb.com/support/documentation/3.0/adminguide/acp_styles.php I went to this page to try and give my new programmer instructions on how to install and edit a new style, and thats all you guys have for documentation on...

PM Question

This may be a dumb question but when I open the PM's I am brought immediately to the below page. Which is supposed to be "Compose new PM". Unfortunately the "TO" is blank, and does not have the ability to add someone to the send-to list. On the left, I see the "Add" option, but clicking the "find me...

Re: Enabling PM's globally

I was asking what I should do, above.

I didn't say that I went ahead and deleted it.

I don't understand your response. Can you be very specific on how to do what you suggest?

Re: Enabling PM's globally

Check that user's Permissions Mask and see where the Never is coming from. If it coming from user permissions itself, you should probably delete everyone's user permissions and rely on group permissions. Those are much easier to maintain. I went into that users permissions, and it says "ROLE: NO PR...

Re: Enabling PM's globally

Thank you.

Now - when i go there, its set to "YES YES YES YES YES" across the board already.

Yet some cannot send PM's.

Do I have to "resave" it for it to go into effect?

Re: Enabling PM's globally

Here is the message she is receiving when she tries to READ my private message:

"You are not authorised sending private messages."

By the way who wrote that error message? Terrible grammar. ..

Enabling PM's globally

We have a weird situation. On the old 2.0 version we had some members with PM functionality and others without it. The permissions system was significantly more simple in that version however, and very easy to modify. We upgraded our forums with several (in the hundreds) of members with PM's *OFF*. ...

Re: Upgrading a Moderator

Thanks Steve. The problem is that there is a lot of logic crossover. Things that seem like they *should* work, don't. In fact there are several possible places something could work. Knowing where to go to do something is the challenge with this ACP. My brain, having worked with this forum software n...

Upgrading a Moderator

Since the new forum software is so incredibly complex, can someone tell me in 100 words or less how to 1) Change a moderator into an administrator .... OR .... 2) Just enable it so that he can log into ACP and see users email addresses? I'm a pretty intelligent person but I have given up trying to j...

Changing User Passwords

I apologize for asking this because I know its here somewhere. I just cannot find it. Old version of PHPBB you could log in to ACP, search a username, and enter a new password into the password boxes, then click Submit. This would automatically assign that new password to that user. The new version ...

Removing a Moderator

Just wanted to let people know after spending nearly an hour trying to figure this out, that when you go in to remove a moderator, you click the FORUMS tab then FORUM MODERATORS and are presented with a list of Categories and Forums (Basically the whole list of what appears on your Forum Index page)...
