Upgrade problems

I'm changing over my hosting at the moment, my old hosting seemed to be getting slower and slower, with loads of 500 internal server errors coming up every time something slightly complicated was executed. So, just before the transfer, I thought I'd do an upgrade from 3.0.2 to 3.0.8. I downloaded th...

Re: phpBB 3 Installtion Problem: Caught in Loop

Well, that explained it for me. After being persistent, I managed to get as far as giving admin details, but then the loop kicked back in. Does anyone understand the reasons why this is happening, and if so, what could be done to overcome it? As a reseller, I'm somewhat peturbed by phpBB not working...

Re: mysql default value error

I can't provide a link, the forum is private: It's our development team's own codeing forum. Screenshot attached of a section of one of the posts though. It's a developer forum containing mode modifications: sample.gif I should note that as soon as I edit the BB code to how it should be, it works as...

Re: mysql default value error

however it's not like an opportunity doesn't present itself sometimes when you post a reply. When they do present them self they are taken...checking the first reply of mine after your previous post would have shown you this.... It is impossible for me to go back and edit every single post.... be a...

Re: mysql default value error

It wasn't at you Karl, I highly value your contributions, and they have helped me out tremendously in the past, and no doubt will continue to do so for a long time to come. It's more about policy, or structure. I understand the point you make about going back and editing everything, however it's not...

Re: mysql default value error

Hmmmmm.... Firstly, it would be very helpful if Karl's original post with attached fix could have a note appended to provide one with a link to the updated version. I don't know if people are expected to read through 3 pages of a topic when the solution appears to be clearly in front of them on the ...

Re: List last 5 announcements from forum on main web page

Hi Gnuman,

Many thanks I simply haven't had the opportunity to test it out yet, will have some time hopefully tonight or tomorrow - Pretty hectic schedule here at the moment.

I'll post an update at the earlist opportunity, and many thanks again.

List last 5 announcements from forum on main web page

I don't really know where to start here:

I have a main website, and a separate phpbb 3 forum.

I want to list say the 5 most recent ammouncements that I made in the forum in a box on the main website.

Where do I start to achieve this?

Thanks for your response, which is why I respectfully asked about the link before making any such posting. I've been around these forums long enough (longer than you dear Jim  ) to respect the rules. Clarification is always a good thing to avoid mistakes. On my experience today, there's a mix ...

Filling in online surveys

My Finacee is doing a thesis for her Master's Degree, and needs loads and loads of questionnaires done. As well as printing out hundreds of forms and going out physically interviewing people, I've also created an online form for people to complete over the internet. I'm not posting the link for it i...

I honestly can't believe that this government wants children to grow up to be retarded. How things have changed since I was a kid. it seems that when I left the country at the beginning of the 80's for 4 years, it had already taken the form of another on my return. It horrifies me! I'm moving to Mex...
