Re: [Discuss] phpBB “Ascraeus” 3.1 Feature Freeze

In a couple of months it will be 2 years since the announced features of 3.1. This isn't good.

Re: phpBB Falling Behind?

Features = bloat. Why on earth would you need to include a blog in the core of a forum software?! Perhaps if you wanted to have a front page of your site generated using content from your board. You know like phpBB.com has right here? Albeit through some custom implementation I guess. That said, I'...

Re: phpBB Falling Behind?

Features = bloat. Why on earth would you need to include a blog in the core of a forum software?! Seriously? You do know there are many forum owners who want to expand the user experience. I for one would love to include a homepage, blog, and many more pages. Custom built pages are not my worry. Dy...

Re: phpBB Falling Behind?

Open source is like a snow ball roll down hill. For the last two years or so the snow ball has not been rolling. The framework is out dated and the hill is currently flat. Once we get rolling on the hill again the project will attract more contributor's etc. Right now if I was looking for something...

Re: phpBB Falling Behind?

To be honest, why would having bug fix releases often be a good thing? Every time an update is released, numerous boards have MOD conflicts, board owners quite often pay more skilled techs to update it for them, it means taking the board down (if there are issues sometimes for a length of time). As...

Re: phpBB Falling Behind?

I don't understand why there are so many people saying that phpBB is falling behind yet nothing is being done about it. I love phpBB. I really do and I hope to be apart of a good community powered by phpBB. It's just you guys are years behind. It takes months, it not years(maybe a bit overboard with...

Re: phpBB Feedback

You might want to read this topic . Also, please keep in mind that phpBB doesn't just add a certain feature because other forum software does. What may seem to be useful to you may be just junk to others. phpBB as features if it will benefit the community as a whole and if it will improve the user ...

phpBB Feedback

Hi, My name is Alfredo Garcia. I am a 20-year old student at the New York Art Institute. My major is web design and interactive media. I do a lot of freelance designing and most of my clients are phpBB users. Of course, I myself, am a phpBB user. I love it and prefer it over any other free forum sof...

Re: New Post Comment Tag

In forumlist_body.html, you can use: <!-- IF forumrow.S_UNREAD_FORUM --> Wow. That was simple. Thank you very much. :) I'll test it out soon. I won't be using images(the on/off images I mean). I will be creating something different. So when a board gets a new post(or topic) if will show in the inde...

Re: New Post Comment Tag

Hi, I am sorry if I wasn't clear enough. See, what I am trying to do is create a new form of "on/off" icons and just replacing the stock ones. I want to create something like this: <!-- IF New Post --> <div....blah...blah... <!-- ENDIF --> I won't be using images(the on/off images I mean). I will be...

New Post Comment Tag

Hi,

I was just wondering if there is a comment tag for "new posts". Something like:

Code: Select all

<!-- IF NEW_POST -->
I can't seem to find any comment tags within the forumlist.html.

I want this specifically for the forumlist.html.

If there aren't any, how can I implement one?

Medals Mod

Hi, I've been looking for abandoned modification similar to the Medals Mod created by Gremlin(http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=582123). I understand people aren't really interested in just creating a modification. So I will be willing to hear a quote from good mod-creators. Drop me a p...

Pulling Info

Hi, I've been messing around with phpBB on my localhost and I got stuck trying to pull information from a forum on the index. Is there any way I can get info from a forum(on the forumlist_body) and place it where I'd like to place it. For example: I want to move a specific: {forumrow.FORUM_DESC} Fro...

Target!

Hi,

I would like to know how to target just the first row of the forumlist. Is this possible?

I would like to edit the first one via CSS but I do not want the rest to change.
