Re: getting error message for sending email

Go onto your FTP and see if the file is there.
If it's not, re-upload your 'ro' language files.

Re: Permission -> The page cannot be displayed

Try uploading the phpBB files again, it may be that one or more are missing.
register_globals does not need to be enabled, and shouldn't be as it is a security risk.

Re: Updating 2.0.23 to 3.0.2 error.

Are you still able to access the 2.0.23 forum?
If so, go into the ACP and edit the forum names, and delete all the code.
If not, then go into the database, under phpbb_forums, find forum_name, and edit the name (delete the code).

[SOLVED] Altering [quote] and [code] Blocks

I'm trying to edit the physical properties of the blocks for 'quote' and 'code' bbcode. I'm having difficulty in locating the file which needs editing in order to change the block properties, such as scrollable, border thickness etc. Make this fixed at specific height, scrollable if needed etc. Thanks

Re: How can i let GUESTS view the forum

Via FTP (the same method that you used to upload your forum files), go to the folder named 'cache'.
Delete everything in it except index.html and .htaccess .
Then try again.

Re: remove title description

You need to edit the style to change this. In your style(s) 'template' directory, find overall_header.html . Find and edit this code: <title>{SITENAME} • <!-- IF S_IN_MCP -->{L_MCP} • <!-- ELSEIF S_IN_UCP -->{L_UCP} • <!-- ENDIF -->{PAGE_TITLE}</title> If you want to remove the page t...

Re: Updating 2.0.23 to 3.0.2 error.

It looks like you have a MOD, or something, installed on your 2.0.23 forum that edited a forum's name, and inserted some script into it ("Yahoo Counter").
Try deleting this modification, and then run the update process again.

Re: How can i let GUESTS view the forum

In the Administration Control Panel, go to the 'Permissions' tab.
Then go to 'Groups' Forum Permissions'.
Here you can see permission for groups for specific forums.
That should be what you want.

Read the phpBB Documentation for further help on forum permissions.

Re: Change a setting for all users

If you want to do some investigating for yourself (as I tried to do), here's a headstart. ucp_prefs.php executes this code when changing the options related to Display Options: UPDATE phpbb_users SET user_options = 894 I can't quite get my head around how the options are set via SQL; depending on th...

Re: Scrubbing Private Message Alert? Possible?

Code: Select all

UPDATE `yourdatabase_name`.`phpbb_users` SET `user_unread_privmsg` = '0'
Obviously, if people have other unread messages than the accidentally sent message, then they will not have any notification for it after executing this code.

Re: General SQL Error -- Help please!

Do you have any MODs installed?
If you do, then you should try restoring a backup (hopefully you made some before updating) of viewforum.php, and grab the Code Changes for 3.0.0 to 3.0.1 to 3.0.2, and manually update viewforum.php.

Re: Change a setting for all users

Wouldn't it be simpler to just change the topic's icon, so that users browsing the forum can easily see which topics are inappropriate or not?
