I spose all RPG mods will be outdated when the new phpBB launches, which might be a reason why Darkmonkey ( the one and only author ) hasn't looked at it anymore. aside from that, ADR was gaining a userbase quickly due to the truckload of features. but then again, for some of us it was fun- 'back in...

PHP is the open-source version. combining these 2 in one server is doable, but certainly not adviseable. the 2 will conflict with each other, killing your script. in other words,...

you really dont know what im talking about... yes, bots crawl through every link, but as that is the first link the bot will have a ban session going on before it can do anything

is that so hard to believe?

you guys didnt understand a word from what i said did you? placing a link with the attribute hidden will result in only bots going to ban.php.

Code: Select all

<body>
<a>

<a>
</body>
bots follow the first link they encounter

yes i have- and most bots dont use that :wink: and what im saying is- if you check the host/ip- its over :) since only bots can come there, that has nothing to do with proxies etc. etc.- since the IPs are simply not saved. if (bot = bad) { session = ban; } else { go ahead... } ps; ive done this once...

well, as long as all Ips are banned you dont need to worry. of course you can put it inside a nice textfile as well. or just check if the bot is a bad bot- just give him a ban session. works as well

hmm, you do know how spambots work right? what about making 2 links- which link to a special IP banpage. simply give the attribute: hidden to the links so normal users dont get to see it. place one right beneath <body> en one right above </body> since bots simply go through source code, they will se...

Well, you could enable user or admin account activation, but that in itself wouldn't stop those people from having their accounts registered. DOH! I believe the people having problems with the spammers already have admin turned on, Visual authentication and so on all set up and ready to go. The com...
