Re: Rolling back a executed SQL commands on the database

Ahhhhhh! Those three files!!! (can’t see the wood for the trees) Various full backups downloaded and saved. In a previous life I was a low level DSP software engineer (C++, C, down to assembler coding) so I can be a bit paranoid and do worry too much at times about losing working software... T...

Re: Saving php and html files in UTF-8 or ANSI encoding?

Did some more testing changing the encoding for those (new peeps) of you who are interested. MOD installing locally was “forum_sort_order”, 1 html file and 9 php files to make hard coding changes. Encoded all files in UTF-8 without BOM it all ran ok Encoded all files in ANSI is all ran ok Encoded al...

Re: Saving php and html files in UTF-8 or ANSI encoding?

Notepad++ opens the files up in ANSI and I’ve notice a couple of times in UTF-8 without BOM. Now I have the forum working with this MOD locally I’ll have a play with the encoding, armed with this new info I’ll change my MOD files to UTF-8 without BOM for starters then see how it breaks using other e...

Saving php and html files in UTF-8 or ANSI encoding?

I’ve got a forum online but tried a MOD to sort topics alphabetically etc locally on my laptop first, offline, before changing the online SQL and other code. Couldn’t get it to work, was saving all in UTF-8 (that I picked up from another post was good to save in but may have got it wrong) and as I w...
