Custom treatment of User Registration Security Question

I have found that often a newly registered user tends to miss the security question (known as the Q&A plugin). I'd really like to be able to modify the style around this to highlight it (probably in red) so new registrants see it more prominently. Does anyone know where in the CSS I can make changes...

How can I change the title of PM "Outbox"?

I've searched through the installation files and only found 3 references to the work "outbox" and none of them look to be where the name comes from. Is this possibly within the db and not in a template file? I want to rename the PM Outbox to "Unread".

Thx in advance!

Is it possible to "import" or "convert" a 3.0.x style to 3.1.x?

I spent a lot of time developing a custom style for my phpBB and now that I've upgraded to 3.1, all my MODs don't work as does my heavily customized style. I'd really like to avoid going through all that work again. Is there a means to importing / converting my old style to 3.1? I care about that mo...

Re: Scam Warning!

Well I fell for it --and I'm usually very good and cautious about such scams. I started corresponding with the sender and eventually negotiated a price for some maintenance and updates to my board. I sent them the money and was requested to have FTP access. I couple days went by and I started thinki...

Re: hammered by newly registered members

I've actually been all quiet now for about the last 18 hours. I had shut down registration for about 24 hours. Then tried multiple QA's but that just opened the floodgate again. Finally, I changed my QA to a brand new question (the "find all the capital letters in the following string of text"). I h...

Re: hammered by newly registered members

Ok, I've re-activated new user registration with just one QA (using the "only upper case letters" method). Let's see what happens... If someone wants to check out the site now, it is * removed * <--remember that this site is NSFW

Re: hammered by newly registered members

...mmmm ok but it is definitely NSFW: * 18+ link removed - next time PM it to the team member please * Just an idea but someone mentioned that the IP's of the newly registered accounts actually were never logged as visiting the site. Is there a way to ensure that any new registrations must have logg...

Re: hammered by newly registered members

As an update, I've had my registrations closed for a couple of days now. I added a second QA that involved the "find the middle 5 characters" trick and a new spammer got through in a matter of minuets!! This is just crazy!! Maybe there is a way to restrict new user registrations by IP address range ...

Re: hammered by newly registered members

Count me in too. I got slammed last night on my forum 3.0.10. So I took a chance and updated to 3.0.11 with no change. I've also gone ahead and disabled registration. I've been using a simple QA for several years now with no problems... Definitely looks like somehow there is a bypass of the entire r...

Special Ranks (post count to specific forum, etc...)

I have a phpBB site that I'd like to set up with multiple user rankings based on either the number of reviews they post (I'm thinking of maybe a post count to a very specific forum on the site --and not just a post count in general for the entire site) or the amount of reviews they receive from othe...

Re: how to make navbar ?

Thanks soooo much pit-PL for your clear and concise explanation of how to do this!! I have had such a difficult time figuring this out. I can easily customize the code from here but this was a great foundation for getting the behavior and placement correctly.

...actually I don't need one in Flash but just a form in general on a static page!
