Re: [url] tag problem

I just did some more testing and found the following. If the member just types http://www.djdjdjdjd.com then it works but if they put in http://www.djdjdjdjd.com then it does not. of course this is with editing or viewing existing posts I just did a test by posting a url in a new post in all variati...

Re: [url] tag problem

I just tried the modifications suggested by the article and the bbcode mod works great, but the Magic URL Email does not. To test things I changed the following case MAGIC_URL_FULL: $tag = 'm'; $text = $short_url; break; to case MAGIC_URL_FULL: $tag = 'mm'; $text = $short_url; break; I then edited t...

Thanks, but I have read that and used it to setup my current multi-forum site. I just did not share the sessions files. As a test I just changed my setup to share the sessions file. So far so good, now each site shows everyone logged in regardless of the site. However I still have to log into each s...

Sharing the Users table among multiple sites

I have been doing this for awhile and it works great. However, would it make sense to share the Sessions table as well using one cookie for all sites. As I develop the other forums I noticed that when I log on to another site my Last Visit date stamp changes and this affects my New Posts status in t...

Can someone create a new subSilver icon for me

There are icons, such as pm, www, and profile

Is there anyone available to create some new ones for me.

I need one similiar to "profile", but it would be "SP dir" instead

I am willing to pay for your trouble and I probably can think of a few more.

Let me know.

Actually this whole issue is not about the sid, phpBB takes care of that, it's the issue of matching ip's and the sid that causes AOL members problems.

From my limited experience I do not think my changes have opened up any security problems. First it is only AOL members who could have their sessions taken over, not admins on my board. The odds of a hacker wanting to take the time to take over an AOL members session to post something is remote. It ...

I have been working with some AOL members and now they are successfully enjoying my board However I did make one more change if ( $ip_check_s == $ip_check_u || $aol_email || $userdata['user_id'] == ANONYMOUS ) I am not sure how or where the Invalid Session occurs in the code, but I figured AOL membe...

That assumes that the person signs up with there aol email account and not something else, which is a big assumtion to make. But on the whole not a bad idea. I wonder if perhaps a check box option when registering, "Do You Use AOL?" Actually I was thinking about posting that if you are an AOL membe...

Session errors and AOL users

I have read all the material on this board regarding session errors and why they occur. And I thought why not just make an exception for AOL users. For example here is my code in the session.php file $ip_check_s = substr($userdata['session_ip'], 0, 6); $ip_check_u = substr($user_ip, 0, 6); $aol_emai...

Yes, I believe the last part works the same when protecting the page I am not sure if there are subtle differences or one is more secure than the other. Maybe someone who does know can comment. I am glad you like the mod :) Once you understand how the templating system works with phpBB you can make ...
