Re: phpBB.com Website Feedback

This is actually [one of many] changes currently in development in preparation for the 3.1 release. We'll be updating our current features page to be about 3.1's feature set and we are also intending (at this time) to have a page highlighting some of 3.1's most exciting new features. We are also in...

Re: phpBB.com Website Feedback

phpbb.com is a huge site and I sometimes have difficulty finding specifically what I'm looking for. What I've been looking for is a single page that lists the differences between current phpbb3 (3.0.12) and the upcoming 3.1.x release. Even a What's New page for 3.1.x would be great.

How is PHP version determined

In the ACP\System\PHP Information page, how is the PHP version determined? I ask this because the PHP version from my host's web server is 5.4.28: http://snag.gy/lxmMp.jpg yet my installation of PHPBB (3.0.12) reports PHP version 5.3.28 http://snag.gy/Evrpa.jpg Can someone explain this discrepancy t...

Re: unable to upload a file attachment

mysql.connect_timeout Since avatars aren't stored in the database not sure that has any relevance in this case. But... I have no problem uploading avatars. I can't seem to upload a picture for a post. Additionally, both keytastic and I encountered time-out errors, so checking this setting seemed to...

Re: unable to upload a file attachment

Kevin- Sorry, didn't mean to p ! ss off anyone, it's just my experience that I give a thorough explanation of my issue and get a terse response with no response to my follow-up questions. keytastic- I'd suggest checking php.ini, specifically the values of the following: upload_max_filesize post_max_...

Re: unable to upload a file attachment

Hello keytastic, It certainly is frustrating when you come here for help, fill out the lengthy form, then get a blow-off answer. I'm not a great expert, but let me see if I can be of any help. I logged into your forum and was able to replicate the issue that you reported, using both .jpg and .png fi...

Re: Attached images in new tab

Of course, this will only apply to any large images that are posted after I have made this change, but it is exactly what I have been looking for. It should apply to any image viewed after you deploy the change (and clear the cache). HTML gets generated dynamically, so it's not important when the i...

Re: Attached images in new tab

OK, I've figured it out, here's the snippet that works for me: onclick='return !window.open("{_file.U_DOWNLOAD_LINK}");return false;' so, the entire section in attachment.html now looks like this: <!-- IF _file.S_THUMBNAIL --> <dl class="thumbnail"> <dt><a href="{_file.U_DOWNLOAD_LINK}"> <img src="{...

Re: Attached images in new tab

Thanks ViolaF, that's a big step forward, in that I now get a new tab (which I was not getting before), but then it throws a 404 error from my host. I'm at work now, will give this a further look when I'm off the clock. Thanks for the input!

Thanks maxrpg, that's certainly the code that I was looking for, but the addition of target="_blank" didn't do the trick for some reason (I too would have thought it would have been the ticket). I'll mess with this a bit more and see it I can get it to work. Thanks for pointing me in the right direc...

No, the easiest way is to have a mod like the other 2 I've listed that will open it in a new tab. I'm looking for a working solution, not a work-around.

Attached images in new tab

The KB article Links Opening in New Windows describes how to make links in posts and other user-generated content open in new tabs and Knowleged base article Making Link Forum Links Open in New Windows describes how to make links to other posts open in new tabs, and both work just fine. What I need ...
