Long time no post (really need to start doing MODs again)... Hey, As far as I'm aware, it shouldn't stop googlebot indexing forum pages, posts, etc. However it does mean it won't index memberlist or usergroup pages since google will show up as a guest user. But you mention: but i have also restricte...

Having looked over the code, it should work fine. Remember it's only one line that needs changed and it's just adding to the IF conditional. There doesn't seem anything which could cause the code to break out of the IF statement. P.S Any further issues should be added to this thread: http://www.phpb...

Opps that was my mistake, try the following code in profile.php: $mode = ( isset($HTTP_GET_VARS['mode']) ) ? $HTTP_GET_VARS['mode'] : $HTTP_POST_VARS['mode']; if ( !$userdata['session_logged_in'] && $mode == 'viewprofile') { redirect(append_sid("login.$phpEx?redirect=profile.$phpEx&mode=viewprofile&...

Announcements stay at the top of every page. Stickys appear below the announcements on the first page only. General rule of thumb: Announcements are important and are to convey information. Thus there are not for debate and should be locked (no replys). Stickies are usually to highlight an issue whi...

To stop stickies from being prunned, open prune.php and change line 34 to:

Code: Select all

$prune_all = ($prune_all) ? '' : 'AND t.topic_vote = 0 AND t.topic_type <> ' . POST_ANNOUNCE . 'AND t.topic_type <> ' . POST_STICKY;
Any issues, PM me.

You can use one of my MODs: Restrict Guest Access (link: http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=72817 ) however change the code so that it reads: if ( !$userdata['session_logged_in'] ) { redirect(append_sid("login.".$phpEx."?redirect=memberlist.".$phpEx, true)); exit; } else if ($userdata['user_...

Just before the line:

Code: Select all

include($phpbb_root_path . 'includes/page_header.'.$phpEx);
Add this:

Code: Select all

define('SHOW_ONLINE', true);

Howdy, You might find line 508 of functions.php useful (phpBB 2.0.4+ only): define(HAS_DIED, 1); This is defined if message_die() is called. Therefore if you want something not to be executed when message_die() is called, use this if ( !defined('HAS_DIED') ) { // Message_die hasn't been called, do s...

Try using a relative path (for example: ./../forums/). The reason it doesn't appear to be working is that by using a root path of http://www..... (i.e a URL), the PHP page you are calling is already being parsed (so the hacking attempt errors will occur) since you are calling it via an HTTP 1.0 / 1....

That is a good idea. That would save a lot of hassle. Plus with userlevel checking, it would still allow for admin-to-user and admin-to-mod messages.

We'll see what the others think.....

:) k....Looking through the thread and playing with a few things, I need to ask u r opinions on the following: 1) Should this be a Moderator and/or an Admin function? 2) Should the Admin be able to message guests? k this is how the messaging groups are going to be divided: * All Users - Moderators, ...

Howdie,

I should have a few hrs to spare tomorrow so I'm gonna give this one ago. I have a clear idea in my mind on how this is gonna work. The only thing I ask is that don't PM me asking when this is done. I should hopefully have a beta available by tomorrow but I'm not promising anything.

Hey,

You'll need to declare it as a global variable. At the start of the function type this:

Code: Select all

global $db;
Hope this helps...
