a hot summer night in Australia
Given the climate there isn't this a bit too vague? Sounds tautological, as in "wet water".
Hot, as in, above 35 degrees C. It was the middle of summer and in the centre of a heatwave after all. Stuck in a house with dodgy cable TV.

Re: MySQL Extension

Just for the record, since it's been raised; the php-mysql extension is missing from the PHP installation. It's trivial to resolve, but needs to be done by the person who has access to that sort of thing. In CPanel's case, a majority of the time, this requires re-building PHP with the extension.

How did you start to learn php?
It was a hot summer night in Australia, I sat down at my laptop and realised that I wanted to interact with databases and dynamic page content.

... and so I learnt PHP... because that's what you do.

Yeah, but that's easy enough to change in the ACP later, though.

As someone that has (granted it was MyBB, then my own build); I can say it is possible. Keep your PHP limit at 128M though.

OP can only view own threads

So I'm looking for a mod (did some searching but turned up a 3.0 mod) - I'm looking for an extension where a member can only view their own threads in a given forum - that is - a non staff member. Ideally, a member would be able to create a thread and reply to it, but they can't see other registered...

Got to love assumptions - This is NOT for a mod, this is for my own site. Im just re-using the DB. Hence the placement in the support forum.

Re: Password Hashing - How is it done?

But good for security. You aren't getting what I want to do here. I'm custom writing a CMS, which is to include forums. I need to check the phpbb_users table to ensure a password is right and a user can log on. That, admittedly beautiful, function isn't helping me. How am I supposed to check if a D...

Sorry, I misread it (partially attributed to your crappy grammar). I read you wanted to remove it.

I am unsure - Check the mods section.

Re: Password Hashing - How is it done?

Ok, I'm not clear here... function phpbb_hash($password) { $itoa64 = './0123456789ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz'; $random_state = unique_id(); $random = ''; $count = 6; if (($fh = @fopen('/dev/urandom', 'rb'))) { $random = fread($fh, $count); fclose($fh); } if (strlen($random)...
