Re: Weird custom bbcode behavior

The short explanation is that HTML4 elements that don't require an end tag (e.g. img or br ) do not have to be closed but elements from other specs (e.g. HTML5) do if they are followed by another element. Additionally, if the template uses any xsl: elements, everything should be closed and the templ...

Re: Weird custom bbcode behavior

Tokens are case-sensitive. {url} will not do what you want.

Try using self-closing tags for source.

Code: Select all

<source src="{URL}/video.mp4" />

Re: BBcode inside BBcode changing layout

You can read the XSLT 1.0 specs although not all of XSLT is supported (both for technical and safety reasons) so I'd recommend limiting your usage to conditionals and the xsl:value-of and xsl:apply-templates elements. Again, I advise against creating complicated markup or a complicated BBCode defini...

Re: BBcode inside BBcode changing layout

BBCode templates are evaluated individually and a BBCode that starts with </div> won't close the previous element. That's a good thing because otherwise, a post that starts with a few [tema2] would break the layout for the rest of the page. There are ways to achieve what you're trying to do but I do...

Re: Upgrade Word Censor to exclude URLs

I've started 2 threads on this topic, collated bug reports ... isn't that enough effort? You want more? Must I write the code changes too? Yes. Linking to bug reports posted 10 years ago doesn't help much to be honest. It's like having a flat tyre and collecting the phone numbers of other people wh...

Re: Upgrade Word Censor to exclude URLs

Sorry but the consensus over time seems to be that the censor is just hunky dory and working as planned, so if that's true and the "400,000 members here or the tens of thousands of other phpBB users" (see above) are perfectly happy with it, I'll look after my own needs and leave it be. It takes me ...

Re: Upgrade Word Censor to exclude URLs

That's the issue with this forum. It's filled with ideas from users who have no intention to make any effort to actualise them.

Honestly I don't know why you even posted it.

Re: Upgrade Word Censor to exclude URLs

Bug reports were marked as invalid because it's not a bug per se. If you actually make a PR for it (e.g. a Yes/No setting in the admin panel under Post settings) I would expect it to be accepted.

It all depends on how useful you think that feature is and how much effort it deserves.

Re: Upgrade Word Censor to exclude URLs

The text inside of posts is censored somewhere else in the codebase, specifically this line. If you replace true with false it won't apply the censor inside of HTML attributes.

If you want this idea to ever be implemented your best bet is to make a Pull Request for it.

What kind of support would you expect? AFAIK you can create triggers and run any SQL commands using a custom migration.

Re: Twitch.tv integration

I have searched everywhere, but nobody seems to know how to embed twitch.tv livestream on my phpbb board. Don't create a BBCode and install this extension, I'm about 80% certain it will work with live channels as well as VODs: https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/extension/mediaembed/ Every time I se...

Re: Automatic Reparser Progress Indicator

8 posts per second is very slow. Try running the CLI with --dry-run to see whether writing to the database is what takes up so much time. I don't know how your shell works but you should be able to use something like GNU Screen to leave the CLI process running in the background even while you're log...

Re: Automatic Reparser Progress Indicator

given the number of posts on the board, more than 500K, running this from the command line would take something north of 12 hours In my experience, it should take closer to 20 minutes by CLI depending on your database. Letting the CLI run in the background should always be more efficient and faster...
