Re: Activating Extensions causes 100% server cpu

I would disable all of the extensions then re-enable them one by one to see whether a single one of them causes the cache to take an abnormally long time to rebuild.

Re: Problems with [img]

Go to your admin control panel, in the Post Settings section, check out the Maximum image width per post and Maximum image height per post settings, make sure they're both set to 0. That check is costly and you're probably on a cheap host.

Re: Dice Roll particular system - php extension

As it is, it would take several hours just to understand what you're trying to achieve. What's a dice roll, how is it triggered, what does it look like, what are the possible outcomes, how do users interact with dices, whats a dice set, how do admins configure them, etc... You did none of that so d...

Re: Run PHP

You need to create an extension, not modify files. If you're handling scalar values, you can do this: https://area51.phpbb.com/docs/dev/3.2.x/extensions/tutorial_bbcodes.html#executing-php-code-with-bbcodes Otherwise, use this event: https://wiki.phpbb.com/Event_List#core.text_formatter_s9e_render_a...

Re: Dice Roll particular system - php extension

For what it's worth, you can significantly improve your chances of finding someone by writing a detailed description of how things should work. As it is, it would take several hours just to understand what you're trying to achieve. What's a dice roll, how is it triggered, what does it look like, wha...

Re: BBcodes, possible to "or" stuff ?

It's technically possible but I don't recommend it because it's too complicated for most users.

Code: Select all

Code: Select all

<xsl:value-of select="@id"/>

I needed switch to PHP 7.3 again but after install because of errror 500:
Start a new install on PHP 7.1 and the installer will tell you what extensions you're missing from PHP 7.1. ext/dom is the one from your logs but there are probably others as well. Do that before doing anything else.

It's related to phpBB but the first post doesn't mention any kind of pay or reward.

Re: Huge performance degradation in comparsion to phpBB 3.0

we should be optimising things (in general, not just phpBB, and I have nothing against the software btw, I really like phpBB) and not just expecting people to have the resources/will to "get better specs" Ok, then who does "we" refer to in that sentence? Who do you expect to spend their resources o...

Re: Auto-linking Reddit References

It checks that the username and subreddit does not start with _ More precisely, #\br/([^_]\w+)\b# checks that it starts with anything except _ . That includes whitespace and other things you wouldn't want in the username. Since this is just a test, it's better to use a lookahead assertion, i.e. #\b...

nothing happens with it either
Doing things at parsing time means it happens at posting time, so it only applies to new posts and posts being edited.

The regexp is correctly escaped. Meta-characters should be escaped in PHP so they're unambiguous and forward-compatible with syntax changes.

Re: Auto-linking Reddit References

If you do it at parsing time, it will allow you to leverage the Preg plugin and reduce the code for your extension to this: class main_listener implements EventSubscriberInterface { public static function getSubscribedEvents() { return ['core.text_formatter_s9e_configure_after' => 'onConfigure']; } ...

Re: Error on "Search' in new forum

Probably an extension that corrupts the XML, something that would create <img> and <iframe> elements. Alternatively, some part of the search may use a different rendering path than the regular thing.
