Re: Upgrade 3.2.2-> 3.2.8 fail

Got it. An install folder in the Forum folder, not the one in the phpbb folder.

The KB link doesn't show the steps that the "change files " instructions say to perform. Do both need to be done or just one ?

Re: Upgrade 3.2.2-> 3.2.8 fail

Since after a clearing of my browser cache, I go the same screen earlier about the forum being offline, I went back and removed the files explained above. Now, I'm back to white screens again. It was removing all the contents of the cache folder but the two files that did that. All I have in there a...

Re: Upgrade 3.2.2-> 3.2.8 fail

Since the install doc mentioned that I should point my browser to .../install/... I had to assume I needed an install folder in that path. I copied those other folder, at the root of the "phpBB-3.2.8-files" folder. Yay, I could run the database update. I renamed the install folder after that. The fo...

Re: Upgrade 3.2.2-> 3.2.8 fail

I copied the update files to my Forum folder. My forum shows nothing now. The instructions didn't mention what I should do with the "install", "docs" , and "vendor" folders at the root of the phpBB-3.2.8-files folder.

What the heck ?

Re: Upgrade 3.2.2-> 3.2.8 fail

Well, The issue must not be IN the phpBB folder. Copied the whole phpBB folder back on my server and the ACP can not be found. Where do I go to find that ? If I hover over the icon for the ACP, it looks like the path is to ".../forum/adm/index.php . I don't see that folder IN my forum folder or in t...

Re: Upgrade 3.2.2-> 3.2.8 fail

Before updating, I needed to check the exact version of 3.2.2 I have, so I can pick the right folder in the zipped folder to do the changed files update. The forum now loads, but the Admin Control Panel is missing. "The requested page could not be found " . The Moderator panel loads up. What file is...

Re: Upgrade 3.2.2-> 3.2.8 fail

Thanks for the tips.

I knew about the Install folder, but not the other stuff.

I chose the auto install method because it sounded the simplest.

Upgrade 3.2.2-> 3.2.8 fail

I copied the Install and Vendor folders to my PHP root and surfed to the install folder. It opened up but when I pressed the update button, it told me I have the wrong files. I had accidentally gotten the 3.2.0 to 3.2.8 auto installer folder. No problem, I downloaded the right update zip file and co...

Re: Upgrade to 3.2 didn't go so well.

If I change the mysql to mysqli, don't I have to change what is running on the server first ?

Re: Upgrade to 3.2 didn't go so well.

Well, did that. It still got the "Installer Detected a time out " error. It had this for progress: Installing Data: \phpbb\db\migration\data\v32x\fix_user_styles. Skip “installer.update_filesystem.download_updated_files” task Skip “installer.update_filesystem.update_files” task Skip “installer.updat...
