I couldn't get to the ACP to begin with. The board itself rendered properly, but the ACP gave this error. I decided to delete all files in the cache directory manually and that did the trick.

Everything works as it's suposed to work again.

When any of our administrators try to access the ACP, we get a black on white text saying: This board has no forums.

Although that still doesn't explain why the user name next to individual posts is also displayed in lower case.

The data comes from the old WowBB board. But the source install of phpbb3 is fresh.

The username in the phpbb_users table is mixed case, the username_clean is naturally in lower case. My question is why are the user names displayed in lower case?
