A lot of config values are cached for performance reasons. So clearing the boards cache from acp would be my first idea.

Maybe you need to check you server configuration for any redirects or other special handling of adm or adm/ or /adm We've seen issues with "security software" blocking access to those folders in other cases, usually sending a "forbidden" http response, but maybe in your case sending other content ...

Did you try to view the page source or used your browser's development tools for the pages in question? Maybe there are additional hints like a strange javascript running before the html output

Proper way to solve would normally be for any style change:
"Clear your board cache" either from the acp start page (Button "Clear Cache") or by deleting the content of the /cache/production-folder via acp instead of copying a random php file without knowing the function of that file.
