Re: Incompatible Extensions for 3.2

Don’t care what will not work. I want a list of extension that WILL work. This should have been developed in tandem with upgrading phpBB since you knew that some, if not all extensions would not be working with 3.2. This strikes me as very poor planning.

Re: Renovation Began Last Jan. - Converting to 3.2 from 3.0

Thank you all for your patience and assistance. We wound up overwhelmed with errors and had to get professional help. There was just too much and too little time to learn everything needed to get our forums back up. Everything is fine now. Not only is the forums updated to 3.2.0, but all of the prev...

Re: Renovation Began Last Jan. - Converting to 3.2 from 3.0

Nuts. Everything was going good and was updating. It got up to 83% and quit with errors. At one point I had a message that if something timed out, to repeat the process and it would resume from where it left off. The errors: General Error:SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]Table 'classicm_pdforum.phpbb3_zebra' doe...

Re: Renovation Began Last Jan. - Converting to 3.2 from 3.0

I am so close, but I just cannot figure out what is needed. Error messages come up as a variation of: Could not find path to your former board. Please check your settings and try again.» was specified as the source path. The option is: Board path: This is the relative path on disk to your former boa...

Re: Renovation Began Last Jan. - Converting to 3.2 from 3.0

Thanks, I have been using Mint, and am planning on switching to Debian. Apparently I should do so soon. No LAMP anywhere in the software manager.

Re: Renovation Began Last Jan. - Converting to 3.2 from 3.0

Something else came up while I was trying to find a way to create a database for one of my projects without having to be online. I want to have the project available through a counterpart database on the web site as well, but I want to work on it without worrying about not having an Internet connect...

Re: Renovation Began Last Jan. - Converting to 3.2 from 3.0

Ah, so the files that begin with “backup_” are the backups. Then the one that has the modification date that is around the time I backed up the forums must be it. I will check the dating code to double check. Gaining access is no problem. The webmaster gave me the database name, user and pass. So I’...

Re: Renovation Began Last Jan. - Converting to 3.2 from 3.0

the only thing I found that affects the database on Joomla is not very helpful. You would not be accessing the database itself from within phpBB or Joomla. You would be accessing it from phpmyadmin, or whatever other database admin program you have. That is also the best place to be making database ...

Re: Renovation Began Last Jan. - Converting to 3.2 from 3.0

Now, if I understand you correctly, you have a database from a working phpBB 3.0.x board. PLEASE CONFIRM If so, you can take this path to get to a working phpBB 3.2.0 board: Yes, I have several listed. I just don’t know which one is the good one. Installing WAMP in order to check which database my ...

Re: Renovation Began Last Jan. - Converting to 3.2 from 3.0

...If that's the case, you should only need to focus on bringing your board back online. That best approach is working towards a clean 3.2 installation. I suggest you follow the srt and post the results in the 3.2 support forums . The community will help you through the process. Well, that advice d...

Re: Renovation Began Last Jan. - Converting to 3.2 from 3.0

From the last answer, I can only conclude that there is either no one with any SQL experience or no one with SQL experience who is willing to assist me. Cryptic answers based on the incorrect assumption that I know what I am doing are not helpful. Therefore, what is being implied is that this is a S...

Re: Renovation Began Last Jan. - Converting to 3.2 from 3.0

No, nothing has been sorted out. I hadn’t received an answer, therefore I was still in need of a reply. I realize that my post might be tl;dr, but I wanted to make sure I put in all the pertinent details since most of the time I am criticized for leaving out information. It has been a week and a hal...

Re: phpBB Forums on Joomla Site

I was thinking of this structure: Group Title Enabled users Disabled users ID Public 1 0 1 – Manager 2 0 6 ┊ – Administrator 2 0 7 – Registered 6 40 2 ┊ – Author 2 0 3 ┊ ┊ – Editor 2 0 4 ┊ ┊ ┊ – Publisher 2 0 5 – Super Users .... Although, this might not be analogous to the hierarchy groups in phpBB...
