Error advice

Hi, I have a new install. It's not the most current version as my server doesn't have the pre-requisite php verison. I have: PHP version: 7.3.11 Board version: 3.2.5 The error I get is: [phpBB Debug] PHP Warning: in file [ROOT]/vendor/zendframework/zend-stdlib/src/ArrayObject.php on line 426: "conti...

Re: phpBB and Canada's new tough anti-spam law

That is a very good idea. I also think it would enhance phpbb if they added a one-click unsubscribe link in their notification emails. That is becoming a required standard in many regions and makes it a lot easier for people who cannot remember their old passwords etc to actually log in and get to t...

Re: choosing moderators

I agree with Kevin on this one. A mod election is very bad idea. Choose them yourself and do it very, very carefully. They represent the board. You want someone discreet, tactful, cheerful and sensible. If that person has some expertise in the content focus of the board, terrific. A heavy-handed, po...

Re: The hardest question of all... how do you get new users?

I think it is true that the majority are interacting on facebook etc these days. People find it easier to find, and easier to use in so many ways. That's the perception whether it's true or not. I have found that having a facebook login system for the phpbb board is very helpful for getting people t...

Re: How to Clear Captcha for a User

Thank you for your reply. Yes, apologies for the generalisation. In my family and on our forum the younger people tend to be the most expert with mobile phones but that is probably not true everywhere. No offence intended. To most people in here, I'd be considered a 'senior' as well. Yes, I did mean...

Re: How to Clear Captcha for a User

why would trying to log in via a mobile device be any different than logging in from your desktop? Ever tried logging in on a tiny phone screen with fat fingers? Our membership is diverse. We have all levels of tech-saviness amongst them. There's also the problem of text predictors putting in somet...

How to Clear Captcha for a User

I have noticed in the admin logs that there is a legitimate user who is activating captcha because he's having trouble with logging in. I know this member has just got a mobile phone and is struggling to log in with it. Is there a way I can clear the captcha for him to make it easier? Is there a tab...

Changing order forums listed when Moving Topic

Can anybody help me to change the order of the forums that come up in the drop-down box that comes up when you use quick-mod tools to move a topic? If a mod is working quickly and forgets to select accurately, they can occasionally send something to the top forum. I'd like to make this a particular ...
