it depends on what you want to re-install if whole web server => in that case i would backup all files: config files, and any web application you host
if just phpBB than you should backup phpBB root folder (where phpBB is installed) and database

Hi, I would do like this: 1. if is live forum - make sure that users cannot post 2. backup phpBB - i think you can do via phpBB ACP or phpmyadmin 3. backup all files from the server - I think some of the files are stored in database and some just are stored on the file server once you have 1,2,3 don...

you can change protocol under ACP from http to https and do not forget change settings under cookies when you have changed into https if you would like http to be redirected into https you need to use rewrite mod for Apache server for example. But you need to have access to the virtual host file or ...

It looks like very useful feature. Can I just confirm if this works with phpBB version 3.0.9 - when you go to the page
it shows that this is for version 3.0.5

I think you try to find answeres to the following questions, maybe they can help to find what can be the core of the problem: Do you have this problem just with forum, or can you see the same problem with your main website - sometimes load faster sometimes slower? Have you experianced such a problem...
