Re: How to increment a variable in a template?

Thanks a lot for your help. I ended up using S_ROW_COUNT, like this:

Code: Select all

		<!-- IF postrow.S_ROW_COUNT == 3 -->

How to increment a variable in a template?

I would like to be able to add a banner ad in between posts in a thread, for example every 3 posts, or every 5 posts etc. So far the closest I've found is an extension that allows me to place a banner ad after the 1st post of a thread. The code is: <!-- IF not S_USER_LOGGED_IN and not S_IS_BOT --> <...

Re: Displaying newest posts on home page?

So I tried example 4 by copy/pasting the code from Header, Functions, Forum and topic information, Database call (example 4), and Footer and conclusion. Here's the error I have: General Error SQL ERROR [ mysqli ] Unknown column 't.topic_approved' in 'where clause' [1054] SQL SELECT p.*, t.*, u.usern...

Displaying newest posts on home page?

I want to create a custom home page where I display for example the 6 top posts my forums (meaning the ones that got replied to most recently). Is there an extension for phpBB 3.1 or phpBB 3.2? I found an article at area 51 but don't know for which version of phpBB it was written? (https://wiki.phpb...

Re: Display ads within the posts of a thread?

Yes that's what I meant. Thank you Mick, I found such an extension! Here it is: https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/extension/adsense/

Display ads within the posts of a thread?

Is there a way to insert ads in between posts inside a thread? I found an article describing how to do it but it was for 3.0, I tried and it didn't work as expected in 3.1 (it inserted the "sponsor" post before the first post and didn't display the ad at all). Is there such an article for 3.1? Thanks!

Have a look at this
Knowledge Base - Changing user options defaults and values

It may just be that people are not polite enough to post a thank you when they do get the answer they want.
Thanks a lot KevC, will have a look.

Notify me upon replies by default: Yes (default for new user and force for current users)

Two different questions really: 1) Is there a way to make "Notify me upon replies by default:" default to Yes for new users. 2) Is there a way to change the "Notify me upon replies by default:" preference to Yes for all current users. I know many would object to this but this is how I would like my ...

min. 3.1.4 and not 3.2.x
Thanks.

I'm running 3.1.9. I've added the folder as instructed in the /ext folder and the extension does not show up under "Customize" in my ACP.
I'm back trying to make this work gain... any idea why this is not showing up under "Customize" in my ACP?
