Re: how to embed a website in a post?

Understanding the similarity and differences of a frame and an iframe, will help to embed html documents successfully and safeguard the site against pitfalls. After spending hours online searching for a way to disable links in an iframe, I became educated on html , html5 , frame , iframe and sandbo...

Re: how to embed a website in a post?

I am still searching to find the syntax of codes to disable all links in iframes. Sandbox may be what I need a better understanding of, because it dominates the web in my searches.

My biggest problem is having no coding experience.

Re: how to embed a website in a post?

There's nothing wrong with iframes per se if you control the content of the iframe. The operative phrase is " if you control the content of the iframe ", if it's a BBCode any member could post any amount of malware by posting bad sites in an iframe. Hey Mick , how would I control the content of the...

Re: URL place incline in a post

This is what I meant by, a URL place incline in a post . https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=693225 The topic covers everything I want to do. Nevertheless, it does not work for me. Either because of what david63 said in his reply: “It may be something to do with you having a 3.1 boa...

Not to speak of tweaking the layout, which can simply hide overflows (and as such have a max-height).
That might make a user think there is a bug or the system is malfunctioning. If they type one thing and after posting only part shows up.

Re: Limit the number of lines for Signature

I said it before - you lay down the rules as to what the signature requirements are or you only allow signatures for groups who can can trust (or conversely those who flaunt the rules are denied having a signature) Your point is well understood, but I rather not restrict some from using a signature...

When the board goes online, I want it to be consistent as much as possible.
Signatures are great, but can clutter posts and distract the message of posts. A single line like yours, AmigoJack and mines keep posts simple and overall, posts looks better.

Re: Limit the number of lines for Signature

I think you are talking about a form of word wrapping. I thought of that and disabled [img], [flash] and [url] from being used in a signature. Also, I set a low Maximum signature length.

Re: Limit the number of lines for Signature

I temporarily solved this issue by disabling all features related to attaching a signature. When the board goes online, I want it to be consistent as much as possible.

Thanks again for the information provided to help me.

Re: Limit the number of lines for Signature

Reading many past posts, I believe this might become a future feature in phpBB.

Thanks for the info on my quote.
Vanilla means standard phpBB, no modifications or extensions.
