Re: NOT A BUG

If permissions is not the real culprit, maybe there's a conflict somewhere in the code. Try to disable that system you are working on & see what it does. It doesn't look like a code conflict. If I restore the database from a different system (same table prefix) it works perfectly. The problem is th...

Re: NOT A BUG

Sorry.. I didn't mean it that way. If problem is in permissions, can't you just reset permissions to default ones? Done that. Didn't help. :( However, I compare the contents of the db tables (Before and After) to find what values are affected by changes. That certainly helps a great deal. BTW, I ma...

Before any big changes (db) usually one makes a backup? Same goes for code changes. With backup you wont make a simple task into a hard one.
Please do not think that I'm stupid.

Re: NOT A BUG

It is more than "making adjustments". It won't work. At least, I have never seen it work. OK, Thanks. My philosophy is that nothing is impossible, but some things take more time, so I'll still try. Up to now I've imported all users, groups and forums into a new forum. Then comes adjusting of centra...

Re: NOT A BUG

You cannot import fewer than all the tables into a new database. Doing so will not work, because of all the interrelationships. Yes I know. That's why I'm asking. If some tables are imported, adjustments will also be necessary, and requires knowledge of phpBB's internal workings. I have decoded ("h...

Re: TinyMCE as WYSIWYG Editor fpr phpBB3.2x

I think some people miss the point. a bulletin board is mainly for typing in text messages for having a discussion. Don't think you are right and others people never understand. please don't explain about what is bulletin board and what is web page again and again. any one know what are they ! Just...

NOT A BUG

Some time ago I implemented a donation system to give selected members special advantages in the forum. This meant that I had to make a few changes in the database. This has resulted in losing some of Admin's permissions, and some functions are not working as expected, for instance the ability to ed...

Re: Quick Links disappeared for all users

user_permissions and user_options do not seem to affect this setting, so does anyone know how to find it?
The strange thing is that modifying forum permissions can make the link disappear but not re-appear!"

Re: Quick Links disappeared for all users

About modifying the database: I know I shouldn't do it, and I've tried to avoid it, but in order to achieve what I set out to do, I didn't have any choice. And it seems that the switch for this setting is affected by changes that should have nothing to do with it. If you want to experiment whit the...

Re: Quick Links disappeared for all users

Why not looking in the ACP there are all the permissions. Now it is almost impossible to help I've been looking in the ACP, and I didn't find anything useful there. After a lot of experimenting I don't think Permissions has anything to do with it, but maybe user_options. Also it seems that it's con...

Quick Links disappeared for all users

A few days I asked for help because Quick Links has disappeared for Admin. I solved that, but now it has disappeared for all users. Yes, I have modified the DB, and Yes, I know I shouldn't, but now I have a problem and I need help. I have installed a virgin forum similar to the first (and it's OK th...

"Quick Links" disappeared for Admin [SOLVED]

After I corrected another error, Quick links on the top of the page has disappeared for Admin. It's still there for regular users, but who needs it most? :) Can anyone give me a tip? Forum is phbb3.2.2. ----- Well, I just replaced the phpbb_users entry for Admin, and that fixed it. I must have done ...

Re: All users can access ACP [SOLVED]

I should be able to do such operations for all users in one go, since going through 500 users manually would be too much, Regulary, the permission it should come from a group, so changing the group would fix all users in one run ;) Just check one of the users and trace the permissions back I found ...

Re: All users can access ACP

The only check I would do is to check for the user_type field in the DB. For regular users, it should be "2", only the founder(s) has "3" ("1" means "inactive"). user_type is 0, group_id for regular users is 2. Don't struggle around with the DB if those values are correct, use the acp functions to ...

Re: All users can access ACP

Any chance for having tapatalk running on your board? It is known for those crap ... No extensions or plugins are in use. However, I just found out that new users do not see the ACP button, only the old ones. Also I have verified that the code I'm asking for is NOT in the phpbb_users table. I moved...
