Re: New GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and phpBB

GDPR is social maturity or respect? No, it's about the way a subject is being handled - the difference between constructive criticism and ideology. There is a problem and we have to solve it. I would love to do so - and even more love to see that this issue is accepted as something worth considerin...

Re: New GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and phpBB

To state that a directive intended to protect users against an already existing "Orwellian" state of data "security" security in itself is "Orwellian" ... It really takes a lot to come up with such an idea :shock: What shocks me most in "discussions" like this one is the utter lack of knowledge (or ...

Not 100% true. phpBB Ltd is registered in the UK but is a USA company and also phpBB Ltd only operates this board out of the USA - it does not have a "significant" presence in the EU.
And exactly this line of argument is irrelevant for the issues we are talking about ;)

Re: changing this very thin border colour

Hi,

open common.css and find

Code: Select all

.wrap {
	border: 1px solid transparent;
	border-radius: 8px;
	margin: 0 auto;
	max-width: 1152px;
	min-width: 625px;
	padding: 15px;
}
and remove these two lines

Code: Select all

	border: 1px solid transparent;
	border-radius: 8px;

Re: CPF Icons

Should they "only" switch to FA 5 instead of a more radical cut they could possibly have all of this in a single "package" without annoying ext developers more than duely nescessary.

Re: [3.2][BETA] Highlight Posts

Okay, I think I got your point here.. you surely mean that once installed, only prosilver - in the drop-down selector for styles - got the preset colours? This doesn't bother me as I expected this kind of behaviour: it's logic and, besides that, I did read the Wiki first - I'm old school whwn it co...

Re: [3.2][BETA] Highlight Posts

Great :D A few more things I noticed - I hope you don't mind: I see hlposts.css being located in .../styles/all/template/ instead of in .../styles/all/theme/ (this folder is missing alltogether): is this done on purpose? When configuring the extension: inserting the hexcodes via the build-in colour ...

Re: [3.2][BETA] Highlight Posts

Hi, in /ext/threedi/hlposts/adm/style/event/acp_forums_normal_settings_append.html on line 2 => {% INCLUDECSS '@threedi_hlposts/hlposts_acp.css' %} should be changed to {% INCLUDECSS '@threedi_hlposts/acp_hlposts.css' %} to reflect the actual name of this file and so avoid a "fatal TWIG error" messa...

Re: +1, Like, or something similar

I want to, we want to, the users of my board want to So this is reason enough to have it as integral part of the core code ? Apply the logic of this justification for adding maybe hundreds or more lines of code (which, by the way, will put an extra load on those who will have to maintain it from th...

Re: Toggleable “Family SAFE” mode feature...

It sounds like having a default "word censor system" which can be toggled off by individual users. In other words: censoring "foul language" (for "PG-13's sake") while providing an option to "un-locK" this very language - in order to attrackt all those as well, who can't/don't want to communicate in...

Re: Header customization in ACP

Those are all assuming your style has those features. It is a bad idea to hardcode such style features in the ACP when you do not even know for sure that your style will have any of those features. All that has been said plus: Considering the complete overhaul planned for the future standard style ...

Re: Remove Hide my online session

Setting the option "Can hide online status" to "no" as described above will not only revoke this permission for the members of this group but hide the corresponding option in their UCP at the same time. So: if done correctly your users won't even have evidence that this options exists at all. but se...

Re: Some new ideas for PHPBB Ext!s

To be frank: not really ... ;) I did want to add a download section to my forum. Up to this point: no questiones. A "download section" can either be a simple dedicated forum within your board or something along the lines of the extension I linked to but separated from the board software and only "br...
