Re: Custom Permissions

I looked up other extensions at how they did permissions and I was able to figure it out. Not that hard to change over.. Just could not find any documentation on it.

Re: Custom Permissions

Okay.. so it's not going to work with 3.1. Understood. Here is the documentation for what I am doing, but I assume it's the 3.0 documentation since everyone is telling me nothing is the same. https://wiki.phpbb.com/Tutorial.Permissions Could someone point me to the documentation page for extension p...

Re: Custom Permissions

Either way, PhpBB still has to store the permissions available somewhere.. But where? All the permissions in my app are working properly still, so PhpBB is still returning the user as having those permissions, but I am just unable to edit who has what permission.

Re: Custom Permissions

Okay, so I have dug into it a little deeper and was able to remember a few more details. The permissions_foo.php file is a language file that I created to display the permission descriptions when I am trying to set permissions for a user. I found that I can move the file to /includes/acp/permissions...

Re: Custom Permissions

I have no clue how this happened but I apparently posted it in 3.0 instead of 3.1. If a moderator could move this to the correct forum and delete this post that would be great. thanks.

Custom Permissions

I updated to 3.17 a while back and I just now noticed that none of my custom permissions are showing in the acp. Turns out my permissions_foo.php file was missing. I went to readd it, but I noticed that the folder language/en/mods no longer existed. So I created the folder and re-added the file. Cle...

Re: Illegal use of $_SERVER.

No still not an option.. However, I figured it out. Modified /forums/config/parameters.yml. Set core.disable_super_globals to false and delete the cache. This resolved my issue right away!

Re: Illegal use of $_SERVER.

Is there an option to turn this check off? I have a website with tons of pages that integrates with PhpBB a little. I use my own checks for those variables and not about to convert them all. There has to be a way to turn that feature off..

Re: Problems moving PhpBB

I actually figured it out.. the cache folder was not writable by the user IUSR (the windows user for websites). Hope this helps someone else in the future! :)

Problems moving PhpBB

Hey, I am having problems with PhpBB after moving from my CentOS server to my new IIS 8.5 server. Everything seems to work except the style. I am not sure what is going on, because I am getting no 404 errors in chrome's developer console while the page is loading. I have tried it on two different br...

Re: Create topic with PHP

Thanks... After changing both of them things, that fixed my problem! I tried each one at a time before and got an error. But I never tried them both at the same time!

Re: Create topic with PHP

Okay, I finally put together a little something that acts like everything is working as it should, but it does not make a new toopic like it should. Instead it just submits a post, but the post cannot be found! any help? Here is my code: <?php define('IN_PHPBB', true); $path_to_root = ''; $phpbb_roo...

Create topic with PHP

I am wanting to create a topic with PHP automatically. I have found THISfunction, but it does a poor job explaining how to use it with the bitfield and what not. Is there anything out there that anyone has seen that can do this?

THanks!

Surely there is more of an explanation than just that... Can you point me to a thread where this has been discussed or something?

Conversation like forums

My idea is one that I really don't think would take too much work - but I might be wrong. The main thing that I think makes phpBB lack is the way conversations are handled. I would like to see it where you can actually reply to someone's post rather than just replying to the topic. Take this idea fo...
