Technically, a guest is able to delete their posts. By default, this is turned off. Check your permissions. Also check to see if any of your moderators/admins deleted the post without your knowledge.

You know. they might be upgrading the scripts by hand, and neglected to update the field in the database which holds the version number. You never know..
