Re: [3.2][DEV] Ticket Tracker

Re: Separate Contact email address from Reply-To email

It is bad common practice to not have a reply email address for automated messages (setting it to noreply@domain.com) Corrected it for you. Please do not misrepresent what I say. Unrelated to what you want Unrelated to the entire topic actually. even if the account is not supposed to get e-mails th...

Separate Contact email address from Reply-To email

<r>phpBB currently uses Contact email address defined in ACP Email settings as a Reply-To and From address in all automated emails such as private message email notifications.<br/> It is a common practice to not have a reply email address for automated messages (setting it to <EMAIL email="noreply@d...

Re: Warning notifications

You can probably edit the language file and add that "This is an automated message to do not respond to it" or something like that. That is not a viable solution since it would be required to change the language file every time phpBB is updated. Keep in mind that not every board owner is as tech-sa...

Re: [3.2][DEV] Ticket Tracker

Why was the repo taken down? Is this extension still in development?

Email and the feature that checks image sizes for embedded images are also issues for this.
But yet they aren't being phased out so there must be some other reason.

Re: Avatars

It's not removed, just comes with an extra warning: https://area51.phpbb.com/code-changes/3.2.5/side-by-side/3.2.6/phpbb-language-en-acp-board.php.html By next release I meant, the release after 3.2.6, the announcement topic mentioned that it will eventually be removed. Is the report about the poss...

Re: IP loggers

just FYI, IP s are not really much of a privacy /security concern. what information do you think you can ascertain from knowing the IP address that an image was posted from or even the IP address of a any given person at any given time? robert FYI, it is a security/privacy concern. Someone having y...

If you are referring to the upcoming EU regulation then that is not a problem as the likes of avatars are specifically excluded.
Could you provide the source of this information?

Re: Option to prohibit avatars from insecure sites

In this case you should disallow any content from websites which are use http, eg. enclosed links from other sites, not only avatars. Disallowing http in BBCode is already possible with an extension, hence I did not mention it in this topic. As for avatars, the only option currently is disabling re...

Re: Option to prohibit avatars from insecure sites

Setting up a proxy server is not always an option for some people. Uploading avatars is also not a solution that will always satisfy everyone since some board owners (especially ones who host their sites in Europe) are concerned about possible copyright implications due to hosting these images.

Re: IP loggers

Okay, apparently there is no proxy after all as I can see IP addresses from a bunch of different countries. There are some extensions that prevent this, but it would be nice to see something like that being part of the core since this is a pretty big security/privacy concern.

IP loggers

It seems that when remote images are embedded in phpBB.com website, they go through a proxy. This way IP loggers do not work. In this example the image goes through IPs which seem to belong to phpBB: https://iplogger.org/2tyGT5.jpeg https://iplogger.org/listfull/tyzs82tyGT5 How can I achieve the sam...
