Re: captcha in Contact Us form

So there is no validated extension that provides the same functionality as the default contact form and suggesting to implement a widely requested setting that allows board administrators to make a decision is apparently "forcing it onto everyone" according to HiFiKabin.

The contact admin extension can't do what, exactly, that the default contact form can?
Send emails to the actual board contact email address.

Re: captcha in Contact Us form

The whole point of having the "Contact Us" form is that people are having a problem and by adding a captch to this there is the potential to exacerbate the problem. The majority of people using this contact form use it for reasons other than CAPTCHA problems. Its not about being sued, its...

Re: captcha in Contact Us form

If the score is not high enough, the user is not presented with a challenge. ReCaptcha tracks your mouse movements. I tend to move my mouse in a perfect, straight way since I use a lower sensitivity. reCAPTCHA v3 uses Adaptive Risk Analysis which is based on many more factors than just mouse moveme...

Re: captcha in Contact Us form

What about ex motorcyclists who now have visual and hearing impairment. They might wish to join your board to share their experiences. Modern CAPTCHAs such as Google reCAPTCHA v3 also do various background checks to identify the probability of the user being a bot. If the score is not high enough, ...

Re: captcha in Contact Us form

There are deaf people who use boards as well you know. Visual impairment and deafness are not mutually exclusive. I personally know 3 such people. Ok, now let's go back to my previous question Give me an example of someone who would be able to use a motorcycle, but not solve a captcha. How many vis...

Re: captcha in Contact Us form

Give me an example of someone who would be able to use a motorcycle, but not solve a captcha. Myself for one. My eyesight is legal for me to be able to drive/ride but most CAPTCHAS are difficult for me. What about Dyslexic people? Colour Blind? Just because you find them easy to solve please do not...

Re: captcha in Contact Us form

Not every board is the same. Ours is a board for a motorcycle club, so there won't be any visual impaired people. That's why I say leave it to the boards administrator, like with the registration form. The admins know their board and can choose the best protection. or otherwise can't complete this ...

Re: No Captcha protection for contact form

Don't understand why this isn't a built in feature. I love how the request was made in 2015 and its 2020 now and still no one has done anything. Sad. Apparently, there are too many deaf-blind people browsing motorcycle forums nowadays and they are having trouble logging in or contacting an admin. W...

Re: Push Notifications

-1 i must down vote because i honestly think that people spend WAY too much time on mobile devices. distracted driving statistics are getting insane. it's bad enough just texting let alone posting to forums. If a person is stupid enough to write forum posts while driving, it is their fault. That's ...

Re: Separate Contact email address from Reply-To email

It is bad common practice to not have a reply email address for automated messages (setting it to noreply@domain.com) Corrected it for you. Please do not misrepresent what I say. Unrelated to what you want Unrelated to the entire topic actually. even if the account is not supposed to get e-mails th...
