What are some good ideas to get the word out about a site without paying for ads? I'm talking about in the beginning. How do I let those first users know it exists without looking too spammy?

No I didn't use the one click, I installed in the regular way. I guess I'm between a rock and a hard place because I've already made too many changes to replace the files.

Ok like before I ran the query, logged in as "admin1", gave "admin" founder status then logged out and logged back in as "admin". I deleted "admin1" and then in stk checked for all users with founder status and found one, admin.

Ok I downloaded the stk, unzipped it ftp'd the folder and pointed my browser to the url. When I try to open the stk I get two warnings and a fatal error stk/common.php line 38 no such file.

This just happened again. I haven't even been on my forum in a while and just now I was looking in the acp and noticed missing tabs. I looked up myself in the list and found that I no longer have founder status. This has to be some kind of bug.

No they are not in Newly Registered Users at all. I already have that group set to default. I understand changes are not retroactive. I've created new members and same thing, they get sent straight to Registered Users.

I have my forum integrated with another site that handles the registration. Members get created and can log in and everything but new members get set to registered users even though I have newly registered users set as the default group and the post limit set to 10. What can I do?

Can anyone tell me what S_SHOW_TOPICS means? I searched around but can't nail down anything. I made a change to something in search_results.html under IF S_SHOW_TOPICS and it worked perfectly but there is something very similar under the ELSE and I can't tell what it does.
