Re: .htaccess redirect

Within all search results try reading .htaccess redirect help . Also please note that your problem is not phpBB related, it's Apache related. Thanks, did read that but that question was never answered. It is phbb related because that redirect works on a normal .htm file but not on a path such as /h...

Re: spam emails

No, they should not be able to mass e-mail (except if the anonymous user was given administration permission to send mass e-mails). As I understand from you (e-mail left open for guests) they were given the permission to send e-mails on a per user basis. So they can send one e-mail to a user, and a...

Re: spam emails

Yes figured out anonymous is set up at instal. So i guess it was the email left open for guests, which is now closed. But could they mass email all users that way? If not how else are they emailing users.

ddosa attacks

I was given some code
if(isset($_REQUEST['search'])){

$doscheck = $_REQUEST['search'];
// DoS attack fix.
if ( strlen($doscheck) < 4)
{
die('Message');
}
}

and told to put in an ini.php

with the forums I don't see one so can this be placed elsewhere

Re: Subdomain

On my hosting I have a main directory that lists all my add on domains. My forum folder looks to be basically an add on domain but associated with one of the "real add on domains"

Before my forum folder was just a directory of one of these add on domains.... Confused :?

Re: Subdomain

I can delete and have deleted the folder called forum /forum but not the folder called forum in the root i.e the sub domain. Before I had www.mysite.co.uk/forum this was just a folder now its gone :D

Re: Subdomain

Yes you are correct. That is what happened, basically looks like an add on domain in my control panel.
It created the folder after creating the subdomain.

Only put it in webmaster tools, and the bot did the rest.

could I put an htaccess in the folder after deleting contents with
RewriteEngine on
RewriteRule .* http://www.forum.cheapdj.co.uk/$1 [L,R=301]

Edit, yes seems to redirect ok.
Your help and time is much appreciated.
